We can’t dispute that this hotel and surroundings are beautiful…however it lacked basic hospitality …and there is more to a good hotel than its appearance! The hotel is in the hills of azambuja and requires a taxi to reach restaurants and a supermarket if you stay here note that they can not offer any meals (apart from breakfast) other than cheese and ham toasties Staff did the minimum required, and although responded to our requests they were not forthcoming or hospitable Room had a lovely view Bathroom and shower old and basic Water or a kettle in a room would be very welcome also a full length mirror would be handy Breakfast extremely poor Staff to busy chattering in kitchen to welcome us Cold coffee from a flask Very limited cold buffet, with cheese ham and breads and a toaster that did not work No breakfast cereals on offer I did ask if egg would be available and was offered scrambled, so fair enough Overall a very disappointing stay
