Bad room cleaning, but nice beach view. 20minutes to go to the village or you can rent bycicle or drive by bus

We stayed at WestCord Strandhotel Seeduyn in July 2023, as a family of 4 (two adults, two pre-teen/teenage kids). First, the pros: The hotel is in a great location on Vlieland, located directly on a gorgeous stretch of beach. It's easy to get to, as you can use the island bus for free during your stay (by showing your hotel card). Breakfast was pretty good, food was fresh and tasted great (especially the croissants!!), though after a week there wasn't enough variety and the buffet got boring. We ate at the Brassery restaurant two evenings, and the food there was also very nice. Most of the staff were very pleasant, though during check-in we did not receive any information about amenities, as there was a line of people who arrived on the bus at the same time as us, and the front desk staff seemed to just want us all processed as quickly as they could. There's a ton of activities for everyone, both at the hotel, as well as the surroundings. Kids club, bowling, swimming pool, wellness center, tennis, beach activities, the list goes on. We were unlucky with the weather, so it was nice to have options to keep our kids occupied. Now for the cons: Our hotel room was not great, especially for the price we paid. We were in one of the "Medium" apartments, which are located in the auxiliary building (next to the main hotel building, and connected with an underground tunnel). The room was smelly due to the poor ventilation (it honestly smelled like cat/dog urine on the carpet), and the kitchen was not super clean (drawers & fridge had some bits of food/crumbs in them). Bedrooms were stuffy, as there are no windows to the outside (see above ventilation issue), and beds were not particularly comfortable. We found we immediately had to open the living room windows every time we entered just to make the apartment tolerable. They say on their website that we get a discount at a local bicycle rental on the island, so we proceeded to make a reservation directly with the shop. What the WestCord website doesn't tell you is that you need to call/directly contact the hotel and have them reserve on your behalf if you want to get this discount. Notes specific for the apartments: There is no room cleaning done during your stay. They will come in and change towels occasionally (every two days or so?), and no trash removal or anything else will be done until after you leave. As others have said, there's a pretty good selection of kitchen utensils/dishes, but absolutely no extras (salt/pepper, spices, oil, coffee/tea, etc.) for cooking, so plan accordingly. It also wasn't clear what to do with the trash (we were there 1 week, and it wasn't collected, so we weren't quite sure how to sort or where to put it). TLDR: This feels like a 3* hotel in quality for 5* prices (especially during summer/peak season). It's fine for what it is, but you'd likely be better off renting a house in the dunes next door for the price, if you're looking at their apartment

Nice place for a family holiday. We had a family room which had 2 bedrooms and a small living. The rooms were a bit oudated, but clean and quite nice. Breakfast was good and also the dinner in the adjecent beach club was good. Great place for a family holiday.

Vorig weekend verbleef ik 3 nachten met mijn ouders. We hadden een medium appartement. Even wennen dat de slaapkamers geen ramen hadden, maar de airco werkte prima en ons balkon keek lekker uit op de duinen. Het ontbijt was uitgebreid en om 8:00 nog lekker rustig. We hebben 1 avond in de Brassery gegeten; een aanrader met heerlijke gerechten en goede bediening. Ook de (Vlieland) massage was erg prettig en ontspannend. Het is fijn dat Seeduyn zo dicht bij het strand ligt en lopend of met de fiets ben je zo in het dorp. Terug werd onze bagage tot in Harlingen gebracht, erg gemakkelijk om je handen de laatste dag vrij te hebben.

Dit hotel - wel aan de prijzige kant - ligt geweldig dicht aan het strand en de Noordzee. het was er geweldig vertoeven, ondanks het slechte , regenachtige weer op Vlieland tijdens ons bezoek. Goed ontbijt, niet te overvloedig, fijne kamer ( superior aan de zeezijde) schoon, prima bed. De temperatuur in de kamer was echter erg hoog; wij hadden geen verwarming aan en sliepen met de deur open. Ook de zogenaamde fauteuils zijn van een mindere kwaliteit en nodigen niet uit om er langdurig in te gaan zitten. En.... rechtstreeks boeken is minstens 50 euro goedkoper per dag dan bijvoorbeeld bij TUI.

Strandhotel Seeduyn is uniek vanwege haar locatie. We hadden een kamer direct aan het strand wat werkelijk subliem is. Echter, de accommodatie is verouderd en gedateerd. Douchekop die niet werkte, een winkelhaak in het laken, een vuil toilet, een lege fles badschuim. 20 jaar terug zou dit een prima verzorgde kamer zijn, maar anno nu kan dit absoluut niet door als 4-sterren accommodatie. De prijs wordt daarentegen wel berekend en dat klopt niet. Ook lijkt er sprake van personele onderbezetting. Service gerichtheid laat te wensen over, ook mist er ervaring in de bediening van klanten. Aan Westcord: doe wat u pretendeert te doen. Uw ‘deluxe’ kamer dateert uit jaren ‘90 en behoeft broodnodig een upgrade. Al met al prettig verblijf, maar absoluut niet 4 sterren waardig.

Een heel goed hotel met veel voorzieningen, zoals zwembad, sauna, Turks bad, gevestigd in de duinen van Vlieland. Uitstekend en vriendelijk vast personeel, maar sommige leerling obers moeten nog veel leren. Overal indruk: heel goed.

Service in het hotel zelf was prettig en goed. Ik had echter een kamer aan de kant van het overdekte zwembad. Hier waren vooral kinderen/ jongeren (zonder ouders?) luidruchtig aan het schreeuwen en lachen in het zwembad tot sluitingstijd. Het galmde heel erg en zelfs als ik de ramen dicht deed had ik er last van helaas. Het zwembad hoort bij de Spa maar het voelde meer als een waterspeelpark.

Al vanaf het moment dat je met de boot aankomt op het eiland begint de goede service van het hotel; je kunt je koffers met de bagageservice meegeven en die brengen je spullen netjes (en gratis) naar het hotel toe. Inchecken ging gemakkelijk. Wel pas na 16:00 uur. Vriendelijk personeel bij de receptie, in het restaurant en bij het ontbijtbuffet. Over het ontbijtbuffet gesproken; top! Alles wat je hebben wilt en geen vervelende wachtrijen bij de koffieautomaat. De kamer en badkamer waren prima. Een klein beetje gedateerd maar het mooie uitzicht over de duinen en zee maakten dat allemaal goed! Enige nadeel aan de kamer is dat het best wel gehorig is. Na twee nachten helaas weer moeten uitchecken waarbij de bagageservice onze bagage weer netjes en geheel kosteloos naar de boot gebracht had. Ontzettend genoten van het eiland en hotel. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar!
