We enjoyed two nights at the LOG. It is set on a hill overlooking trees, the city, and the water, so the views are lovely. The staff were attentive and very eager to please. We are active and fit, however it is nonetheless a bit annoying to have to climb 100steps every time one returns to the hotel, so this is an obvious detraction. The other disappointment for us was that there is no spa. We had just finished three days of cycling and were looking forward to relaxing in a Japanese spa/hot tub (which we have quickly grown fond of), only to find we had to make do with the bath tub in our bedroom. The building is minimalist and made of concrete, even most of the seating - stylish but not particularly comfortable. It has a youthful, zen vibe. The clientele, when we were there, was much younger than the two of us and apart from us, it was exclusively Japanese. There were lots of Instagram moments being recorded. Our room was Japanese style, a very comfortable low mattress with rice paper floor covering and rice paper screens we could open . We had a cute patio with great views but uncomfortable tiny stools to sit on. We enjoyed the creative, European-inspired breakfast and the set menu for dinner. Everything was tasty and interesting. The wine and beer list is limited and fairly expensive. The location of the hotel is convenient (apart from the steps).
