Marvin Gardens Motel

Last minute decision for a room for the night. The beds are horrible; barely slept at all. Car would have been more comfortable. There was a hole in the wall in the bathroom. The shower is a small square shower stall. No tub. They had half the parking lot tore up because they were installing hot tubs to rent. Maybe that money would be better spent updating the rooms. They have maybe a dozen rooms with parking for about 5 cars.

A lot further from the beach than advertised, so you may as well go further out and get a room with somewhere to hang your clothes! Or even a bathroom shelf ! I have stayed in small rooms in Europe but they made great use of the available space. This place didn’t even have a hook on the wall to hang any clothes. Barely room to get around the bed.

Not sure where to start. Perhaps with the lack of communication while booking add on the very unwelcoming reception upon arrival. The parking lot is not properly lit at night and the place seemed unsafe. Apparently this was a good place to stay in years past, but the new owner seems to care less about creating a nice experience.

Sadly this place was a bad selection on my part. Was thinking a cabin type accommodation, simple, sweet and modest would be OK as we were only passing through. However, it was in disrepair with damage to the roof, dead bugs in the light fixtures, unclean hot tub, no baseboards and the person who checked us in had questionable hygiene practices. If this is the only place in Old Orchard Beach don’t bother staying.

OMG, this place is a dump!! We paid over $300 for two nights!!! No ice, not cleaned up very well, TINY, tiny, tiny!!! No place in bathroom to put stuff!!! But the only place my sister could find at the last minute!!! She was told ‘beach is just down the hill’!!!! Never stay here again
