It would have been a five had it not been for the annoying/migraine inducing EDM reverberating through the walls from the nightclub next door. I believe the rooms that adjoin this establishment should come with an advisory. We could not sleep well for two of the three nights we were there. Otherwise the staff are attentive and the building is beautiful. It reminded me of Andalucía and Morocco.

Great homely place with caring and helpful staff team. All, Luis, Edwin and Luis and others were fantastic. Located in the heart of everything and walking to all essentials. Great spacious room. We especially enjoyed sitting early morning in the courtyard balcony over a coffee and leisurely breakfast.

When we checked in the front desk clerk upgraded us to a master suite at no additional charge to ensure we weren't disturbed by street noise other guests experienced previous nights. The exterior is deceiving as the hotel and amenities were incredible. The included breakfast with an extensive menu was the best food we had the few days we were in Oaxaca. Our server Kayla was so knowledgeable, shared so much helpful information, and made great recommendations. All the staff were so friendly, accommodating, and helpful!!! They have great seating areas and private sitting rooms that you can bring people to that are not staying at the hotel. There is beer, wine, spirits, and soft drinks available. Relatives stayed at other hotels and hung out with us at Pug Seal. They felt Pug Seal was a nicer hotel than theirs. We highly recommend staying at the Pug Seal!

An oasis tucked away in center city. We absolutely loved staying at Pug Seal. Excellent staff, drinks, rooms. 10/10 The concierge, Pati, helped us with anything we needed, even going as far as to get us a reservation at a restaurant that was fully booked online

Very comfortable bed, luxurious shower, beautifully appointed room - this is a gorgeous property in a great location. The (regular and Mexican coffee) coffee, infused waters, and croissants were delicious; and though we did not avail ourselves of the complimentary breakfast, the other couple we spoke with raved about it. Lastly, we particularly appreciated the ability to have a nightcap at your honor bar. A couple criticisms, some easily remedied - I thought the mosquito abatement was a little too perfumy. Though it must have worked - I did not see one mosquito in my room - the scent was almost overpowering upon entering the room. Second, I found the steps descending from the tub shower were slippery, despite the grip tape. The handle is helpful, but either consider bigger-grit slip-tape on the steps, or use additional cloth bath mats which worked very well for me (maybe add additional mat). I thought the bathroom could have used a place to put toiletries. You could easily add an additional small side table next to the sink, or a cubby on an adjacent wall. The one small side table provided little-to-no space for toiletries. Finally, and I'm not sure how to remedy this, but the bass rhythm from the music in the nearby club penetrated your walls until late, late at night. It wasn't super loud, but it was enough that there was no way to block it - pillow, earplugs, etc. I think this is where the nightcap from the honor bar really paid off. :) Otherwise this is a beautiful property in a wonderful city and I look forward to staying here again in the future!

Pug Seal is a great hotel to stay at! I was with a group for a culinary trip and had the best experience here. They have coffee available all day, along with juice and water. They have an honesty bar stocked with everything you need. Water, cokes, sparkling waters and the beer your mini fridge is stacked with is free. They have breakfast included with your stay and snacks scattered about the hotel in the afternoons. Aesthetically the hotel is super cool. The main floor entrance has a cool fountain and murals throughout the hotel. Multiple courtyards with plenty of room to spread out. Couches and tables around the hotel to relax in. The staff are super great and friendly. They are nice and help with anything needed. I would recommend anyone stay at this hotel!
