Lavender House is truly fabulous. A beautiful period charming house tucked on top of a gorgeous ceylon tea valley. It is picture-perfect; five star luxury, with spacious clean comfortable rooms. Best of all is the warmth and caring reception by the staff. The food is truly excellent and yummy, I loved the sri lankan breakfast experience . Thanks to every member of the staff, the chef and in particular Saman, the manager who made me feel very much at home. I highly recommend Lavender House.

We booked this rather last minute before the Avurudu holiday week. Right from the reservations team running the Whatsapp communication channel, we experienced great service. It took us about 4.5 hours drive from Colombo. The road to the hotel from the Kandy side is not that great so its better to drive a bit more towards Nuwara-eliya and take the next road there. A plus for us was that they had great driver's quarters. The manager Saman greeted us warmly and showed us around the beautiful property. We stayed in the Lavender suite which is a large colonial style bedroom facing the lawn. It also had a small private garden on the side. The bungalow also had a pool room and a sitting room with a TV with Netflix and cable. The best part of our stay was the amazing service and the wonderful food. A very big thank you to Saman, Thisara, Viduna, Vindana, Chef Denura and Chef Sampath for going above and beyong to make us comfortable, happy and feel at home! The staff were very accommodating to our request to just be left alone to relax for 5 days and on my part to finish my writing. They set up tables wherever we wanted them to, so we could sit and work. They were discrete but always available whenever we needed tea or food. The highlight of our stay was the beautiful high tea they arranged for us in the middle of the tea estate and later a dinner with hot steak stones where we grilled our own meat. This property would really benefit from a bit more landscaping and a naturalist to explore the many birds in the area. Loved it and highly recommend the place1

AN INCREDIBLE STAY, we didn't want to leave! We stayed in the Plum room and we had the whole grounds to ourself so it pretty much felt like our home and we had free rein to use the house as we wished, we had just got engaged two days prior so this was BLISS!! The grounds are STUNNING! The view, the interiors, the staff, the diversity everything about it was 5*. Special shout out to Saman the hotel manager, Sampath the Chef, Viduna, Thisara, and Prassanna who made the stay EXTRA special, so attentive, kind and warming. The food was incredible and one of the highlights of our stay, was when Sampath and Saman would specifically ask us what we wanted to eat for each meal (not one menu seen during the whole stay which was impressive and added that personalized touch, bespoke feeling!) once we had discussed what we wanted they would organize a 3 course meal for every sitting, we wanted to experience true Sri Lankan cuisine so for the most part our meals were influenced by these flavors and it was incredible to experience such lovely dining. For lunch one day they even allowed us to have a floating lunch in the pool! I could not recommend this location enough. As a creative person I truly see this as a perfect place for a retreat, a place where you can relax, delve in to hobbies and create your own oasis! Its remote location lends it self to creation, contemplation and relaxation without the hustle and bustle. We were grateful to be able to wake up to the view, surrounded by the diversity and great staff! Id like to add that we felt the pictures didn't do the property/grounds justice, also pictures of the villa, which is equally breathtaking just modern is outstanding (we were lucky enough to be able to see the villa and what it had to offer and it was very impressive) just a shame that there isn't any photos of it! (we were shocked to hear that there weren't other guests & that people had cancelled - we could only assume that it was because its an hour away from central Kandy?!?!) Since we had just got engaged we could see its potential in being a wonderful wedding location! We will be visiting again and next time for even longer!

The place is brilliant! The staff are 11/10 with a special shout out to Ravi the butler who made sure that we had everything that we needed and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great stay. He took care to make sure that me and my wife were looked after on our honeymoon. Creating a brilliant atmosphere and sharing tips and tricks to ensure that we were having a fantastic time. My other half is an insect enthusiast and he went out hunting for interning species for her. Genuinely Lavender House is so so lucky to have someone with such a heart looking after its guests. It truly made the place. The chef was also out of this world. He made sure that everything was fully customised and breakfast was one of the best that I’ve ever had! Staff were 11/10 and genuinely could no have been looked after better. The only niggle was hot water. Which was in no means a criticism of the staff in the slightest. We had no adequate supply of hot water for our stay. Since the room had a bath we could not fill it to wash. This was quite a let down when spending so much on stay. I recommend checking in to ensure that this is fixed if you’re staying. However, when fixed the place will be out of this world! Ps. Please also note there is no onsite bar at the time of writing. If you book an all inclusive package. There is no alcohol included. However Ravi went out with some cash to purchase for us.

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely delightful. From the moment we arrived, everything felt warm and welcoming. The manager, Saman, made our experience truly memorable — he personally arranged a wonderful tea factory tour, surprised us with a charming afternoon tea, and even offered a room upgrade. His kindness and attention to detail made us feel like valued guests. The hotel itself is peaceful, beautifully maintained, and full of character. We left with wonderful memories and would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. This was my first time in the Sri Lankan countryside, and what an incredible stay we had at Lavender House. The bungalow itself is absolutely stunning, a unique blend of luxury and old-world charm, surrounded by beautifully kept grounds and just minutes away from the tea plantations. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was exceptional. Saman, the General Manager, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, he truly is a credit to Lavender House and would return just for his service. Our butler, Ravindra, was equally outstanding, ensuring every detail of our stay was taken care of. The food was phenomenal. My partner is Sri Lankan, and the team went out of their way to prepare all her favorite local dishes, every meal was cooked to perfection. We live in Dubai, so life can often feel hectic, if you’re looking for a place to truly relax, recharge, and find peace, I couldn’t recommend Lavender House more highly. It’s more than just a stay; it’s an experience that captures the heart, culture, and warmth of Sri Lanka. Thank you to the entire team for making our visit so special.
