T2-03-E3*】 **RE: COMPLAINT Unpleasant Odor in the Room During Stay ** ** I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with how serious issues during my recent stay at your property were handled. This is about our first day after we checked in the house — we immediately complained to you about the unpleasant smell coming from one of the room’s toilets. We tried to call you to describe the situation in more detail, but our calls were ignored. Instead, a maintenance person showed up and handed us two packs of air freshener, which had absolutely no effect on the smell after we tried. *This was not a proper solution given the seriousness of the issue.* We also requested to be moved to a different house due to the unbearable condition — but this request was ignored as well. *The odor resembled rusty water or possibly sewage*, *and it became so intense during the night that it woke me from my sleep around MIDNIGHT ** To make things worse, we later discovered the same unpleasant, rusty smell in a section of the basement car park, where a pipe appears to be leaking. This suggests a possible drainage or sewage issue, raising real concerns about hygiene and safety. Given the impact on my rest and overall experience, the ignored communication, inadequate response, the unresolved odor, and the potential health risk, I believe it’s fair to request a partial refund or appropriate compensation. WORST Airbnb and ZERO SERVICE RECOVERY ever. We booked 4br with play area, checked in and to our horror, cockroach at the door step, ants along the wall, hair on the floor, play area has weird black bits and food particles, used cup left unwashed & dried up, sofa with ants hidden and revealed after spraying the anti-dust mite /anti bed bugs spray, soiled/used cloth in the common sink area. Contacted the host and was told the unit was not cleaned. Had to go back to the other condo next to it to return the key and exchange for a new key for another unit. They told us to move to a 5br unit and even had the cheek to tell us not to use the 5th br because we only booked for 4 br. We are not even hard up to use the 5th br- in the first place the unit we booked ought to be cleaned and not have to go through the hassle of changing unit, AND an uncleaned one as well. At the 5th br unit, it was a similar situation, unit is uncleaned, ants within the unit along the entrance wall, one of the ensuite bedrooms have drainage smell, hair on the beds, the toilet seats were stained, choking in the master bedroom bathroom… we reported to the host and they seemingly were apologetic but replied in a confusing manner as well - saying they had “gone ahead to refund” … and that we “may check out”… it was already 11pm by the time we changed the unit and spotted more disgust, and we have kids with us. After check-out the day after, we asked about the refund but we didn’t expect them to actually meant for us to LEAVE at 11pm and only then they will refund us. We had thought it’s service recovery on their part for their lack of responsibility to keep the units clean. On hindsight we should probably have checked out the next day but then again they would probably retorted we had stayed for the night and no refund - weighing the hassle of changing to another accommodation (there were 6 adults and 2 children), as we were out the whole day the next day until the late evening, we just put up with it and checked out as early as we could. In any case, we strongly advise not to book this.
