Karl August - a Neighborhood Hotel

Beautiful hotel, central location, clean. Excellent swimming pool and spa. Excellent service, I forgot a sweatshirt in the room (a gift I am very fond of) and immediately they found it and sent it to my home address. Nice and good breakfast. Super recommended!

We stayed at Karl August just before Christmas. The location to the Christmas markets was phenomenal! The hotel is also centrally located to many of the sites in Nuremberg. We loved the location. The rooms were well-equipped and beds were very comfy. The pool and spa is a must-visit! A great way to relax after a long day of travelling.

This was our second time staying here- and again had an anmazing experience! We will be back

We absolutely loved this hotel and will definitely be back if we are ever in the area. However, I suggest not purchasing the breakfast. It was very over priced and the service was very slow even by European standards. There are plenty of other alternatives conveniently located near the hotel – one being the cafe connected to it.

Beautiful property located conveniently in the heart of the city. Rooms with balcony overlooking the river are spacious, beautiful and quiet. Bets hotel in Nürnberg.

Beautiful, trendy hotel in the perfect location. Everything we needed was provided. The only disappointment was that the indoor pool was not heated. After walking the Kriskindle markt all day, we were looking forward to a soak in comfortable temperature. However, it was cold and we could only tolerate for a few minutes. But watching the sun set from the the pool area was splendid! The location was perfect for the Markt, as we would go out, shop, drink Glüwein, and go back to the hotel to for a rest and to drop our goods.

The location on this property is excellent, literally less than a block to the Christmas Market and old town shopping. Also, it was very clean. The parking is close but a little hard to get to when the streets are closed for the market, and our front desk person couldn’t tell us how to get there. She just gave us the name of the garage. But, Waze didn’t account for the closures so basically we just circled for several blocks in heavy foot traffic until we found the entrance. Frustrating. No mini fridge in the room, and the hotel does not have land line access so there are no phones in the rooms to reach the front desk. For what we paid, we felt the hotel was a little lacking in basic amenities. The on site coffee shop is nice.
