Firstly on booking this, back at the end of march 2024, my partner and I were expecting more information regarding the set up of the day. We had booked a facial inside the one night stay, with breakfast lunch and dinner. The facial time and date was shared to us almost immediately after the booking for the day of arrival. However no details of whether we could have the booked lunch on the day of check-in or after. I therefore spent 4 days before the check in date, calling the generic number for champneys with being left on hold for 45 minutes each day! I apologise for saying this but i was shocked that the central line was so badly managed and no one was able to take my call. If you need to see my phone records I will share that over. I finally managed to speak with an attendee on Wednesday 1st May, who could not confirm either way which day my partner and I could have the lunch. She was afraid to confirm any details because the details were not viable to her on her side. On check in Friday 3rd May, we arrived a little early and ate in the cafe, awaiting the official check in time of 2pm. The gentleman was the only friendly face to show us a layout of the premises, and answer my much awaited questions. He was sure to state the times for dinner, breakfast and lunch. A friendly attitude much unlike what was encountered over the phone. The room we checked in was on the ground floor - room 44, had only one set of shampoo for two long haired women and only one toilet roll. We requested more from house keeping. The mirror edging was coming away from the edge, revealing a tired look, and the bath had very unpleasant poking rust circles engraved I to the bath surface. The lobby was a lovely welcoming area and on entering the ladies changing room, we were surprised to see tired lockers, lockers that did not shut due to moisture expansion or dodgy hinges and pooling water in one the toilets - on the drain floor. The female Sauna was so dimly lit you could not see the sand timer The steam room was average and met its needs. The public sauna was not in function on both days of our stay. And we were not informed of this in advance, or on check in. This was disappointing as the sauna was bigger and much more better lit than the small female sauna. The food that was serviced for all the breakfast lunch and dinner was exquisite and we had no complaint about the food and dining. The waitress who sat us for the breakfast however was seating guests and taking the tea and coffee order which was delaying entering guests, forming a long queue at the food diner check in counter. All in all bar the male staff attendant, we felt the staff to be little hostile and disengaged. Perhaps it was an off day, or you have had a new turn over of staff at the springs. Considering this is the champneys name, with a generous price tag I was surprised with the lack of engagement, the lack of itinerary sent in advance, the poor customer service both over the phone and in pe
