The name of hotel is actually The Peer Gynt Hotel, not Thon so confusing to find. We finally say a flag flying with the Thon logo on it but otherwise we wouldn’t have known. Strange set up with hotel in a separate building from reception and the restaurant. Seems like a truck stop hotel as there is a huge parking area for big rigs, but it’s comfortable enough. Breakfast was pretty bad. Ice cold scrambled eggs that I had to ask be stuck in the microwave for a few seconds. Plenty of parking and lots of charging stations. It’s a good place to break up a long drive if you need to - we stopped between Ålesund and Oslo so we could take our time and backroads.

We didn’t stay at the hotel but had lunch. Lunch was excellent with a good spread of food. As a visitor to Norway, I can say the lunch was cooked with a genuine local flavor and not catered to tourist taste. I really liked it. The view was fantastic and the service was excellent!

If you are looking for a hotel in a scenic spot this is not for you! But if you need a comfortable, friendly hotel to stay overnight in between A & B then this is perfect! On arrival my thought was "Oh great, we are staying in a crappy hotel at a truck stop/gas station!" That being said I was very impressed! The room was comfortable & modern, had a large bathroom with a great shower, comfy beds & the staff were wonderful. We had a view of the parking lot but others in our group had a view of the countryside. The rooms are in a separate building to the restaurant but were away from the gas station & were quiet. In the main building is a cafeteria-like restaurant, but the food that was cooked to order was simple (burgers etc) but tasty & they even provided me with a GF burger bun. There was a decent bar, and although the eating area was a bit like a motorway service area & not intimate, there is a comfortable lounge with tv, & tables & chairs outside next a quiet green space. Breakfast was great & I would say probably one of the most generous on our trip around Norway, with gluten-free bread option for our group members with allergies. I would definitely stop overnight here again. It had everything a group of tired, damp bikers needed!

Un hotel de carretera a pie de montaña, con el pueblo situado a dos kilómetros aproximadamente (unos 30 minutos). Para entrar a las habitaciones se necesita la tarjeta de la habitación. El desayuno y la cena fueron buffet, aunque me parecía algo escasa en cuanto a variedad. En la habitación estuvimos tres personas, y una de las camas era pequeña, los pies se nos salían de la cama. La comodidad de las camas, salvo de esta pequeña, era muy buena. El baño era muy amplio, y la ducha era cómoda para ducharse. El personal del hotel con muy buena atención.
