Borgo Castello Panicaglia

What a stunning place, so clean and the grounds and views were totally amazing. We arrived from perugia airport normally 40 mins as we hired a car, arrived very late at night and checked in to the most beautiful huge rustic room, four poster bed, cookies, tea,coffee facilities, we had two bedrooms one with huge bed and the other room had bunk beds and single bed and sofa and still lots of room, bathroom was again huge with sink,shower,toilet all clean perfect. Breakfast was continental breakfast yogurts,pastries etc was very delicious. We were there visiting as a potential wedding venues so had a full tour, grounds are huge with a lovely swimming pool ( not ready as it was out of season) pool bar, they grow vegetables, have chickens, and a herb garden, lots of areas for children to play that were safe.( a tiny church where they show movies to the children just wonderful) We had lunch here too it was just delicious beef ragu , anti pasta everything was amazing. I can’t recommend this place highly enough but the best thing was the staff every person we came into contact with were just so lovely and nothing was too much we will be back with no hesitation Thank you to all the staff your a credit to the beautiful Borgo

OMG what a divine place. My daughter picked the Borgo for her destination wedding and, wow, did she pick the most perfect place. The scenery, the rooms, the food were all beyond compare. The staff went out of their way to make everything absolutely ideal. I don’t have even one small complaint, it was all exceptional. This is a 5 star plus venue. If you are considering a destination wedding, I would HIGHLY recommend the Borgo.

We recently had our wedding at Borgo Castello Panicaglia and it was dang near perfect. The entire staff was kind, helpful, empathetic, and incredibly professional our entire stay. Sarah and Mira helped orchestrate the week and made sure everything went flawlessly. We truly felt like we were in a dream with the stunning views and venue, top notch food, and beautiful and comfortable rooms. They supplied tons of activities for the kids and went with the flow whenever we wanted to change our original plan or make additions. Whether you are planning a wedding or just a getaway, I 10/10 recommend coming to Umbria and staying here! Thank you to the entire staff!

Beautiful 13th century castle located in the hills of Umbria. Suites are spacious, well appointed with comfortable beds, Interior design Scandinavian style. European linens, and luxe bath products. Hotel Manager and Wine Director, Mirca Costanza Dirodi, has created a warm and inviting haven within the castle walls. Every detail has been considered to accommodate weddings, families, couples, inclement weather. Behind the scenes reflects skilled organization in service and staffing. Her wine selection has also been meticulously curated to reflect the region and a multitude of individual taste. Chef Federico Polito creates the most delectable and creative dishes from the gardens of the Borgo to the best sourced local ingredients for Osteria Panicaglia. He orchestrates his amazing cooks to present delicious vegetables and fruit from the gardens, house made breads and pastas, locally sourced meats, poultry, fish, and will accommodate any special dietary requests. Every person we encountered from the cooks, kitchen staff, servers, housekeepers, grounds-keeper, and maintenance could not have been more kind, gracious, and welcoming. A special extension of gratitude to Agnese, Michaela, Tom, Riziki, Christian, Kujtam, Beatrice, Dionne, Natalie, Daya, and Giole for making us feel a special part of the Borgo. Thank you again. We will forever remember the Borgo with heartfelt memories.

Absolutely glorious week here. It’s such a special place with an amazing feel to it. Relaxed, luxurious, safe, beautiful and friendly. Best place we’ve ever stayed and will return for many years to come. The only slight complaint about the rooms is there isn’t air conditioning (it’s an eco hotel so I get it) and it’s very hot. Ceiling fans could be present in every room if not air con and then it would be much more comfortable when it’s really very hot out in the day. But honestly, it’s an amazing place and we had a brilliant week. 100% recommend.

Beautiful setting, nice location, rooms and breakfast, big terrace. Slow and very easygoing service, waiting forever for food. Dutch ambience with lots of small kids, impossible to relax. Food not really Italian. Very overpriced for what it was.
