힐톱 인 뉴포트(Hilltop Inn)

We enjoy the Hilltop for a couple of evenings during the off season when Newport is relatively quiet and navigable. The Hilltop staff is always a source of good ideas for restaurants, activities, places to shop: "Where can I get an authentic Irish sweater?" The accomodations are comfortable, with a fabulous shower: a step-in to rain shower, body sprays, and hand-held shower, with a marble bench. We don't even need the jacuzzi that is also in the bathroom. The location is a short walk from shops on Spring Street and Thames Street as well as Bellevue Avenue. The room itself is comfortable, too, with gas fireplace and king-sized bed . Breakfast is superb, different each morning: Belgian waffles one day, quiche another. A fruit dish is always available on the side board, along with snacks and sweets, and during the day, you can always make yourself a cup of coffee or tea in the breakfast room. We make our stay at the Hilltop a yearly tradition.

The Inn is lovely! It is a beautiful old gracious and charming home. The staff was very welcoming. They made you feel instantly at home.The inn was immaculate, the beds were very comfortable, clean towels were readily available! Its location is very central to almost everything. Parking is no problem as there is an ample lot next to the inn. We certainly plan to go again. There are a couple of cons: The breakfasts on any mornings were not very good.Fresh fruit bagels, muffins and coffee would have been preferred. The first floor was never warm enough on January days or nights.

The Hilltop Inn is our favorite place to stay in Newport! The Inn is beautiful. The staff are very welcoming and care about the Inn and their visitors. It is also VERY clean and provides a safe parking area. Great location to walk to restaurants, shops, the harbor and the ocean. We continue to visit every year!

The host Liz was extremely nice and helpful! Our room was amazing. Very comfortable with a homey feel to it! We loved the bathroom, the bed was nice and big and we loved the extra touch of our own little fireplace! The dining room and living room were very quaint and comfortable! Breakfast was delicious and later in the day some complimentary cookies were put out that were amazing. The overall experience was very homey and comfortable and I will definitely be staying here again!

Beautiful Inn restored to its original look. The room was extremely comfortable. Great service. The staff made you feel extremely comfortable. Great location, easy walk to restaurants, etc. Very nice breakfast provided.

Great place to stay! walkable to Thames Street, and all the ideal spots and the most comfortable beds, pillows and a cozy room. Loved the size of the bathroom, the breakfast was amazing, and loved that there was always water and snacks available. Not to mention the owners are all very sweet and helpful. Easy check in process, and beautiful terrace out back I wish we got to enjoy more! Only thing I wish was that there was a mini fridge in the room, but besides that definitely met or exceeded our expectations!

What a beautiful place to stay and a great location! We had a suite as it was my husband. 13-year old and me. It was enough room for us and the bathroom (esp shower) was beautiful. I know it might be odd to comment on the bathroom but it’s that beautiful (ha). The location couldn’t have been better. They have parking so you park your car and can walk everywhere (shops, restaurants, harbor, sites, Tennis Hall of Fame, etc). Breakfast is included and was very good. I will definitely stay again.

The room was comfortable and the decor was warm and inviting. The free breakfast was mediocre at best. Serving breakfast at 8:30 am is too late. There should be provisions for the guests to have a bagel or cereal. Additionally, the first couple days we were served fatty bacon which was very unhealthy. Please be aware that there is a service charge of $25.00. They advertise free breakfast and parking and then add on a service charge ? It seems they are trying to hide the cost.

Hilltop inn is beautifully decorated and in a great location. We stayed in the Touro room. The room and bathroom were spacious for a B&B, especially the bathroom, which has an amazing shower. Both rooms were immaculate. In light of the rates charged, I had high expectations. But a few things detracted from making it a 5-star experience. First, the breakfast is served at 8:30, which is a bit late for those who want to start their day early. That would be fine as long as some self-serve alternatives were available starting at 7:30 or 8, perhaps croissants, or bagels, granola, yogurt. These would also serve as an option for those who can't or don't eat breakfast meats like sausage and bacon. Second, the water bottles in the room are greatly appreciated, but in the summer, they should be a bit larger than tiny 8 oz. bottles. A great alternative would be to have bottles on ice in a beverage tub in the dining room so guests coming in from the heat could take a chilled bottle to their room. A thoughtful touch that would be appreciated! Lastly, the final detail is admittedly a small one, but a property in this price range should do better than cheap, mismatched plastic hangers in the closet. The inn hits the mark on so many levels it's a shame to fall short on this one detail, especially when it's so easily remedied. Overall, a very nice property, a great location, a few tweaks would make it an outstanding property.
