아시아나 호텔 노스 머스크햄(Ashiana)

I am of Asian descent. We believe the owners of the Ashiana Hotel are of Asian descent. We booked 2 bedrooms at the Ashiana Hotel. We have travelled to many countries and stayed in 5* stars to no star hotels. We had extremely high expectations of professionalism and respectful duty to their guests. Our experiences at the Ashiana Hotel, the UK , were of shocking disgusts, disappointments. We were seriously concerned about clarity of our booking. We arrived at 9.30pm. After several phone calls, the staff responded and came downstairs to receive us. They were dressed ready for bed. They gave us the keys to our bedrooms. When we opened one of the bedrooms, there were 2 beds. One was not made up. The 2nd bed was scrambled and it had been slept in by the previous guest.Please see attached photos. The bedroom was cold, smelt musty and damp. We opened the 2nd bedroom, there were 2 beds made up. Again We had difficulties contacting the staff. So we moved the bedding from one of the bedrooms to another. The 2nd bedroom was extremely cold, smelt disgustingly musty. There was a small heater provided. Towels were damp and smelled. We couldn’t settle left before midnight. There were no toiletries as stated in the Hotel information. Both bathrooms had not been cleaned for quite sometime. The Ashiana Hotel requires immediate inspection to reassess its capabilities and performance in order for it to meet British Standards of hospitality. Nil score rate.

Always stay here when down visiting family. Rooms always spotless. Untill this time. Rubbish left in drawers, mould on ceiling and round tap in sink.

Dinner was superb including service. Hotel stay in their accommodation was absolutely diabolical. Hardly sleep due to traffic noise and noisy fan in bathroom wouldn’t turn off. Went to work the next day and came back to accommodation to find a huge turd left in the toilet and all my loo roll used up! Spoke to manager he said no one has key just you. Just one key per property. That’s a complete lie! Obviously!

Amazing large comfortable room with 2 double comfortable beds and lots of space great shower in a massive bathroom and so comfortable roomy and you cannot get better for the price so so cheap but great value

We booked 2 rooms 1 for my mum and 1 for husband and I as I was doing a local race We were given room 9 and 10 Staff were helpful and friendly Rooms were damp smelling both rooms had damp carpets and stains on them No bedside lights in room 10 or remote Desk from and old office very tatty Headboard not fixed Bathroom needing tlc Good points - spacious rooms and parking fine , and you cannot be too harsh when it was a cheap price we paid , so all ok for 1 nights stay but wouldn’t want to be staying for a romantic getaway or a treat

On the booking form it said to call the Hotel if you were going to check in after 11pm I did this and was assured that we could check in at any time as there would be someone on duty. On Sunday all flights were delayed at Stansted due to a power cut and to top it all the M11 northbound was closed. Delays were inevitable. As a courtesy we called the hotel to tell them of the delay and we were told we could not stay there as there was no one on duty after 11pm. We had paid for a room. Absolutely terrible service.

Our standard double room was spacious and had 2 double beds. The bathroom was also spacious and the shower was very good. The room also had tea and coffee making facilities, a desk and chair, wardrobe and a comfortable 2 seater. Lighting could have been better and the outside light did not work. The TV remotes also did not work. Electric jug was too large to fill in the basin.

Too hot in the room. Didn't expect AC but a fan in the room would have been nice. Had to buy my own !!

We couldn't even get into reception upon arrival as the doors were locked. We were only allowed in as a chef happened to step outside and noticed that we were there after ten minutes. Upon getting into the room, we found (what we hoped were) curry stains all over the sheets. When we told the host, they were quickly replaced, but not before he told us over and over that they weren't at fault because they use an external cleaning company that was letting them down. This made me respect them less than if they had just apologised and replaced them. The sofa in the room only had three legs, meaning I actually fell off of it when I first tried to sit. None of the lamps worked and only half of the ceiling lights worked. Upon showering, the bathroom filled with water as the shower obviously wasn't sealed properly. No toiletries were supplied despite them being advertised. Hair dryer and iron were only available upon request, but we couldn't acquire them in the morning as the restaurant (and thus reception) was closed. The room was very warm, which we were very happy with due to the weather, but the positives end there. The rooms door opens straight on to the road, which I found rather off putting as the sounds of cars were very loud. Also, not a critique on the hotel at all, but the nearby bus stop to get into Newark-on-Trent doesn't actually exist, and requires crossing a busy main road with no crossing to get to where it should be. The restaurant was absolutely gorgeous. The service was incredible and it is some of the best Indian food I've ever had, with a gorgeous interior and a heated outdoor bar area. It's a pity they don't take the same pride in their hotel as they do their restaurant.
