Hot water too Bath towel and beach towel provided, even for dorm guests Laundry service brilliant, £30 for a full basket - smelled lovely on return Incidental night in a studio - gorgeous, no change in price Perfect combination of the kind of privacy you get in luxury resorts and inclusion and friendliness from all staff Sawa I Lau cave trip was amazing Spa - couples massage was gorgeous, staff so kind and friendly Hike trails Good quality paddle boards, snorkelling gear and kayaks Unreal amounts of different fish I was genuinely miserable to leave this place!! We had an amazing time! The people are warm and welcoming. Big shout out to Lucy, Caesar, Bill and Una, who made our stay so much better! The food was delicious, the bure was clean with comfortable beds (AC was a bonus). The reef and fish are amazing. Tip – swim on the right side when you are facing the ocean. The left side was a bit disappointing. This was the best stay in Fiji. We stayed in 4 other locations and this was by far the best. My only concern is – I hope the resort takes care of the reef. The resort sells non-reef safe sunscreen and when we took a guided night snorkel the guide stopped all over the coral just crushing it with the flippers. When we asked him to stop, he didn’t and said it’s okay and the coral will grow back. We want to come back in a couple of years but will be disappointed if the coral and fish are gone. What’s the point in returning to paradise if the paradise is lost. Please take care of it!!

We had a warm welcome and a free upgrade from our room. The beach is stunning. It’s possible to snorkel straight from the resort, very magical. Waking up to this was just so unreal. Plenty spaces to enjoy the sun or the shades. They also helped with the ferry. They offer snorkel trips and it was seriously one of the best spots we have visited in our lives. We really enjoyed our stay, however some improvements can be made. In the evening the activities were a bit forced on the guests. That should be avoided. The meals sometimes were good other times it was average. When we did the snorkel trip (to 3 points), the last point was a bit strange. They dropped us somewhere and said that it was somewhere over there and left us behind to figure it out ourselves. Very strange. And we didn’t see anything. Finally there is a dorm available on the resort. Not sure what we feel about that. Great for the backpacker but at the same time we pay a lot of money to stay there. So a bit mixed feelings about the dorm. Having said that the guests from the dorm were not party animals or anything like that. Staying here for a couple of nights dia our good. Very relaxing environment.

Hands down the best hotel I've ever been to. It feels like it's at the end of the world (and it sort of is) but in the best ways possible. From the location to the service to the rooms, it was an amazing experience. We went during a very stormy 2 weeks in August, but somehow the weather in and around Nacula Island was perfect. Beach/snorkeling: The water is so clear and unreal. There's snorkeling right off the hotel. Paying attention to tides is a big deal in Fiji so every beach and hotel on the beach are going to be impacted in some way, but no matter what time of day Oarsman's had some areas you could snorkel in (unlike. Rooms: Every room (except the hostel) are beautiful huts, and the way they're positioned everyone has an ocean view and there own chairs to lounge in outside. They were simple but beautifully designed and maintained, and had the cutest outdoor shower! Activities: There are plenty of kayaks, SUPs, and beach games to rent for free. They have tons of free daily activities like basket weaving and yoga that you can take advantage of. There's also several hikes on the island. You can also book tons of paid tours like snorkeling and diving trips through them. Staff: So friendly, welcoming and attentive! Spa: I highly recommend you get a massage. It was one of the best I've had! I like a lot of pressure, and she managed to do that while still making it a relaxing experience. Oarsman's feels like one of the best kept secrets in Fiji. Highly recommend going!

I had an aromatherapy massage in oarsman‘s bay lodge with Louisa. The music was really calming and the room was decorated nicely. She did an amazing job. I felt really comfortable, safe and mostly relaxed. She is a very warm and pleasant person.

We just returned from spending my 50th birthday at Oarsman’s Bay Lodge. I could not have been happier with our choice for our first trip to Fiji! We stayed Bure #2 for six nights. We loved everything about our stay. The staff was incredible, and you have seen their names many times in the reviews for good reasons. Lucy, Anna, Una, Billy, Petay (sp?) and so many more wonderful people! I don’t eat fish and had no problem eating every single meal that was put in front of me by choosing the chicken option. And I am a fairly picky eater. So, bravo to the kitchen staff for the wonderful food. The water was incredible, the paid activities were well worth it! and Oarsman’s Bay Lodge was exactly what I expected, and I truly loved every minute of it. I like to see different places, but I know for sure that I will return to Oarsmen’s Bay! Dan and Sam B.

This was our first trip to Fiji and aside from a quick convenience overnight at Denarau, it was our first accom in Fiji. Oarsmans Bay Lodge is beautifully located on a stunning sandy beach with breathtaking snorkel opportunities out the front of the accommodation. We stayed in a ocean view bure, which was perfectly equipped for a relaxing stay - own private hammock, beach shower and outdoor shower, aircon and ceiling fan, mini fridge and private verandah with ocean views. There is no TV, which ensures you appreciate the local environment and Fiji time. The meals were delicious and plentiful - with buffet breakfast, set lunch and 3 course dinner (or lovo or BBQ dinner depending on the night). We made the most of 2 spa massage treatments, which were absolutely heavenly, and also took part in several of the tours, including reef hopping, a cave tour and village visit. We also explored the beautiful island by foot. The Fijian singing welcome and farewell were such a special treat, and all the staff were so wonderful and very welcoming. There is nothing we would change about our stay at Oarsmans, and hope to make it back one day soon.

We really enjoyed our stay here; absolutely stunning setting and beautiful resort itself but the overall atmosphere and service was not as fantastic as what we had experienced at the resorts before coming here during the same trip. The attention to detail of the bungalows was great, food really good although you cannot choose, there is just one option per mandatory meal (not an issue for us, we enjoyed it) but the staff often felt a bit harsh when asking a question or needed help (ie - we rented a kayak at 4pm which very clearly annoyed the member of the team as we had to return it by 5pm and they ‚needed to close the shop‘ (not an issue for us, we knew that anyways and told them so) to the point where they wouldn‘t even help us getting down to the beach or back - we were told about a traditional dancing performance but declined to participate only to rather harshly be asked again later and then also in the morning why we didn‘t come…just a bit weird) Overall the best place for water activities we would say but the way we were handled left us with a little bit a sour taste in our mouths but maybe we were just unlucky. Would probably return and try again as setting and amenities were so wonderful.

We spent 3 days at Oarsman's Bay at the end of March 2024 and our experience was incredible! We stayed in a beachfront bure (#9) and it was the perfect accommodation for us as a couple. King sized bed was comfortable, air con worked great because it was very humid, lots of outdoor spaces to sit (adirondacks, hammock, loungers), mini fridge in the room, outdoor shower which we loved and of course great ocean views. The open air restaurant and shared spaces were adorable and with only 20-25 guests at any time, never felt crowded/noisy etc. It was so serene. We spent alot of time just lounging and staring at the view which was spectacular! We were unsure of what to expect with the compulsory meal package but we were not disappointed. The food was fresh and flavorful. Breakfast was a buffet style with eggs, sausage/bacon, pancakes, beans, fruit, toast, pastries etc. Lunch was a set menu but always delicious. Dinner was a chicken or fish option and again, delicious! I am gluten free and the staff always ensure a substitution was available for me at every meal - including the 4pm tea. I also am not a fan of fish and don't usually eat it, but had it twice at lunch because that was what was on the menu and it was SO good! My husband was shocked I ate it all up =) We snorkelled, kayaked, did the cultural village tour and had a massage and a facial - we recommend doing them all! We wanted to do more activities but we lost 2 days of our trip due to a flight cancellation but we heard other guests raving about the reef hopping and snorkeling trips. The staff were friendly and attentive and we really could not have asked for anything more. After leaving Oarsman's Bay we stayed at a resort on the main island and it was so underwhelming in comparison to our experience at Oarsman's! We definitely plan to return very soon!
