Very good place and easy to check in

This place is amazing! Spectacular view, reindeers as a neighbors, very friendly hosts, and at the end of the day- beautiful northern lights! Couldn’t ask for more 🤩 I won’t lie- it’s not our first time staying in that place and definitely not the last!

This property has several cabins that appear to be very different in age and upkeep. We were assigned Gola 3. It was raining when we arrived and the cabin had water actively leaking into the corners and windows. They had to add small clips to the windows to make them close because they are so warped from being wet. The kitchen counter had a big burn mark on it and generally very worn out including the cookware. The shower was not cleaned properly and had mildew/mold all over the bottom of it. The cabin was unacceptable to stay with my young family so we left and did not spend the night. Initially the owners denied my request for refund, I had to submit a claim with the booking website's customer service and send photos for the refund to be approved. I would stay away from this place unless it is your only option or unless you can guarantee a newer cabin. There are many more options 1hr north in the city of Egilsstaðir.

WOW - What an awesome setting. Lovely self contained cottages and with stunning views. Loved the setting and the cottage was spotless, with all the necessary bits and pieces. great location, highly recommended if you are on a road trip through southern Iceland, this place is perfect.

So we had a bit of an adventure checking in. The white board of who was staying where and when was out of date. Both check in locations were closed (late afternoon). The house was quiet and the restaurant not yet open for the season.. Turns out it is really very easy. Just look up the name of your cottage in your reservation and walk in the door! Keys were inside. Yes a very trusting place. We had a good laugh at ourselves. The cottages are small but have everything you need. We sat on the porch and looked at reindeer and at least 12 waterfalls. Hard to beat. I would suggest that instructions on how to use the 2 burner stove (hotplate) would be helpful. If we had not used one before we would have had trouble as it is not straight forward. It is a good place to bring your food and relax and enjoy. Would stay here again.
