Located on the North side of the island on Man O’ War Harbor you will find waterfront access for snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking and fly fishing. If you prefer to hang out poolside you can enjoy the natural wildlife and serenity of Upachaya or take a kayak tour winding through mangrove channels and snorkel or scuba over the pristine Mesoamerican Barrier Reef system. This listing is for Harbor View Cottage at Upachaya. The use of the property is for registered guests only. 4 guests maximum for this listing. Harbor View Cottage is the newly renovated 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage at Upachaya and includes a view from the deck of Upachaya's gardens with a glimpse of Man O' War harbor. Harbor View Cottage offers a Queen bed in the master bedroom, a full kitchen with stove, oven, microwave and full size refrigerator as well as a queen size pullout sofa in the living room. Harbor View Cottage can comfortably accommodate 4 guests. Located outside of the major tourist areas and away from heavy traffic, you are guaranteed to experience peace and serenity with our unique accommodations. In addition to the tranquil setting and relaxed atmosphere we also offer guided water, scuba and snorkeling excursions as an additional amenity. Surrounded by tropical gardens of orchids, amaryllis, jasmine, and bougainvillea, our freshwater pool is a great place to cool off. Poolside, experience both sun or shade from our thatched roof palapa. At night the pool area is well lit so you can enjoy a swim into the evening, or simply gaze at the stars. The boardwalk spans throughout the property and meets the water at our two story dock in the calm Man O’War Harbor. If you join us for a water adventure, you will depart from this beautiful location. At night, the dock is the perfect place for star gazing. Undisturbed by excess ambient light, you will be in awe by the millions of twinkling stars. Watch close enough and you may catch a shooting star. Book yourself a trip to paradise today and enjoy all of the experiences Upachaya has to offer! Guests can access Upachaya using their own rental car or we can arrange round trip transportation from the airport to Upachaya. Water sport activities and excursions as well as meals are not included with your reservation but are available for an additional fee. The island of Roatan offers more than most can handle on a single trip. Upachaya can offer roundtrip transportation from the airport or cruise ship terminal and provides valet diving out of our Boutique Dive shop as well as kayak and snorkel tours. Fly fishing can be done on the flats that are conveniently located by a short three minute boat ride where the coveted bonefish can be caught. At Upachaya Dive Center you can experience epic diving just a short boat ride away from our dock. Our dive sites are not as busy as others which allows you a less crowded dive. Upachaya Snorkel Excursions lets you enter the world of the vibrant Mesoamerican Reef. This snorkel tour is the perfect day trip to explore the beautiful under water terrain and witness spectacular marine life first hand away from the crowds. Roatan is said to be one of the best snorkeling locations in the whole world! Don’t miss out on all the beauty there is to be seen. Inquire within for water excursions and meal plan options that are available for an additional fee outside of your lodging reservation. Upachaya is an "off the beaten path" establishment. While internet is excellent on-site, power outages do occur on the island and there is not a backup generator. In addition to being off the beaten path and away from the hustle and bustle of the further Western end of the island, Upachaya is unique in the fact that it exists in some ways to serve military veterans both active and retired. Upachaya is directed by the G. Harbaugh Foundation who grants opportunity to different military veteran programs to spend time at the property finding peace through scuba-diving and fly-fishing excursions, yoga or simply existing in Upachaya's serene setting.
