더 몬트레이 파이어플레이스 인(The Monterey Fireplace Inn)

My favorite place to stay when in the area. The man who runs the place is the nicest man in the world ! Very friendly, understanding, and hospitable. The housekeeper is a sweetheart and works very hard and quietly. Cleanest hotel you will find in the state. Highly recommend.

這個motel 是迫不得已訂的，遇上car week。周圍酒店暴漲。衹能住在這個RMB2000一晚的酒店了，平時應該RMB1000吧。沒有收我按金。酒店床很乾凈舒服，有微波爐。免費停車。複合地板不太喜歡。老闆是印裔的老頭，也沒有太多溝通。匆匆住一晚。不太推薦

This place was nice and clean. Especially the restrooms are super clean and neat. Parking was also good. The person in the front desk was really awesome and friendly. This becomes my favorite places to stay whenever I visit big sur.

The modern, updated, clean room was miles ahead of other, more expensive motels in the Central Coast region, and in an area that felt safe. But my room was very cold (despite the very loud heater unit, which i finally had to turn off to sleep), and the room was noisy enough that i had a very hard time sleeping (outside street sounds, but also the room's fridge, heater, and the lobby/staff lounge area immediately next to my room, along with other inexplicable bumps and bangs). I finally dug out my earplugs and got some rest. I'd probably stay here again just because of the cost -- but I'd ask for a room farther from the staff area, and might not stay again in winter.

The hotel owner is a nice Indian man. I don’t want to give a bad review but THEY DO NOT CHANGE THEIR SHEETS.

The place was clean and looked newly renovated. I wish there was a carpet. The floor was too cold during winter. I also didn’t feel very safe around the area.

The manager does not speak or understand the English language and is inept/slow with computer skills. He repeated himself several times requesting identification while I was standing in front of him pulling out my driver’s license. Several requests for a receipt were met with a blank stare. I don’t blame him for his lack of qualifications or training; I blame the owner for putting him in a position for which he is not qualified. When I went into the room, the window was open. I didn’t notice (because the drapes were closed) until I got in my car ro go to dinner. So, I went back in to close and lock the window, but the lock would not engage. So I had to take all of my belongings with me. There was no safe in the room. While the room seemed clean, there were food droppings between bed and nite stand. There are no lamps, only harsh overhead lights without dimmer switches. Heat pump was the loudest I’ve ever heard, requiring me to adjust TV volume every time it turned on or off. The price was right and typically I enjoy staying at small, independent “mom and pop” type establishments, but I would not return or recommend this place.

This little place was just what we needed. The manager/owner is top notch on service. The place was super clean and recently updated. They have everything you need (microwave and fridge!). Bed was just okay. Location is a bit out of the way and you need to drive places. If folks outside are noisy you can hear them, but we didn’t have much trouble with noise. Overall I would recommend, especially for the price.

This is probably the only place I will stay. My parents have offered me to stay at upscale hotels and I’d rather stay here. The price is cheap all I need is a place to put my head bed is comfortable! And instead of paying 300-600 dollars I save way more money and can do things cause I have more money! The manager is polite he makes sure that everything is fine with my stay that I don’t get from upscale hotels. If you don’t need to be pampered this is the spot and all around you are stores.
