This is probably one of the oldest hotels in resort and therefore has an envious position backing onto the beach. There is a good pool, terraces and tennis courts plus outside snack bar to compliment the large restaurant and grand wood panelled bar. However, much of the hotel is rather dated and the rooms are basic and rather noisy.

Het was fantastisch! Ontbijt met werkelijk voor ieder wat wils en zeer gevarieerd diner. Alles in buffetvorm. Zeer vriendelijk personeel. Ligging is super, vlakbij het strand. Zwembad is groot en schoon! Niets dan lof voor dit enigszins gedateerde hotel, wat ook meteen de charme is!

The hotel is clean, welcoming and has fun for all ages. The rooms are clean and bed comfortable. It is directly connected by the boardwalk to the beach and is central in its position in town. The facilities are excellent, good sized pool with plenty of sun loungers and pool bar serves food and drink during the day. There is also a crazy golf course that is fun, plus tennis courts are available. Entertainment in the hotel bar is available nightly, and there was a "happy hour" during our stay. The staff are very welcoming, professional and helpful and we can recommend this hotel to others.

Just returned from a fantastic week at Vasco da Gama Hotel. The hotel is in a prime beach location and close to other amenities. Despite being an older build hotel it retains its traditional charm and character. The rooms are comfortable and kept very clean by the hard working housekeeping team. All the staff are pleasant and efficient whatever role they have and are a credit to the hotel. The breakfast at the hotel is extremely good and offer a wide choice to suit most tastes and requirements. The offerings included breads , pastries, cereals, lots of fresh fruits, jams and yogurts. There was always plenty of cheeses and cold meats to choose from and the hot section included eggs, bacon, sausages, mushrooms, beans and tomatoes. Tea, coffee and orange juice to have with your breakfast freely available. The hotel caters to people who are looking for a quiet and relaxing beach holiday. Monte Gordo is a quiet resort with a lovely beach and plenty of cafes and restaurants. We had a great holiday and hope to return in the near future.

After visiting Monte Gordo for the first time last year we couldn’t wait to return. Last year we stayed in Hotel Dunamar and enjoyed the amazing view so decided to try Hotel Vasco Da Gama as it shares the beach front location. On arrival at 1pm we were allocated a room on the 5th floor and even though check-in was from 4pm our room was ready so off to a great start ! The hotel originates from the 1960’s and thankfully retains alot of stylish features mixed with some modern upgrades. Our room was full of character with quirky tiles and furniture complimented with a stylish modern bathroom suite. The rooms have great air con, fridge/cooler and a free safe. As the 5th floor is the top floor the balcony is large and the view is simply stunning ! We stayed bed & breakfast and every morning the breakfast was superb with plenty of choice. The pool area is large with plenty of sunbeds and a wonderful pool. Towels can be rented from reception for 20 euro each which is refundable on return. There is a poolside snack bar but as we are familiar with the area we ate out for lunch and dinner. The hotel bar is very stylish with dark wooden panelling and soft furniture, the staff are very friendly and approachable and there was musical entertainment every evening which was good quality and very enjoyable. Overall this is an excellent hotel and we will definitely return. One point to note is that the guests are quite old so whilst it suited us, as the atmosphere was quiet and reserved, it may not suit everyone (the average age was about 70). Lovely hotel.It has the feeling of opulence about it while being very reasonably priced( in early May). Breakfast was included and was delicious, catering for many nationalities and tastes.All the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Came here with three friends for a five day break. We had two rooms, level three and four. Rooms were of an adequate size, although bathrooms are quite small and I wasn’t keen on a shower over the bath. But clean and comfortable and cleaned daily. I actually loved that the hotel is so dated and it would definitely spoil its charm if ever modernised. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice to suit multiple tastes and the dining area was light and roomy. We thoroughly enjoyed the bar which opened at 5pm for happy hour and I can’t praise the staff enough. Super service from happy chatty folk who really looked after us (especially Lille) Also there was entertainment later on every evening in the bar. The hotel grounds are spacious and well maintained with a good sized pool and there is a short walkway onto the boardwalk and a beautiful beach. We never had any problem getting a sun lounger and used the pool bar a couple of times. My friends and I all agree this is a really good hotel with excellent staff across all areas and would definitely recommend it

Nice hotel in a great location on the fantastic beach. Rooms are ok - nothing special. We had a "superior" room which had a larger entrance hall with a single bed in it pretending to be a sofa. Not really very superior!!! The restaurant, bar, and housekeeping staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The restaurant is 100% buffet and can be a bit of a bun fight. Sharp elbows would be helpful. Reception is in desperate need of refurbishment....very dated and dreary. The reception staff are not at all helpful nor are they very visible. Would we go again? Yes- because we know what to expect. We wouldn't bother with a superior room; we would be more canny about when to use the restaurant and we would avoid reception at all costs.

Just returned from a 6 night stay on a half board basis. ♥️ Hand sanitiser everywhere in the hotel ♥️ Outside dining area ♥️ Hot food was covered ♥️ Pool area and sunbathing area spacious ♥️ Cleanliness throughout the hotel ♥️ Bedding & towels smelt fresh ♥️ Staff - friendly & courteous ♥️ Location Good having a fridge in the room and room was a good size. Special thanks to the lady who cleaned my room. Great job every time. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Felt more like a 4* than a 3*.
