힐그로브 호텔(Hillgrove Hotel, Leisure & Spa)

Just spent one night at Hillgrove and one night was plenty. We booked the Honeymoon Suite...which turned out to be a room NOT a suite...I queried with reception but were told that room WAS the suite! It's not. . The DBB meal package we booked which is shown on their website included a glass of wine or beer each...the waitress and supervisor knew nothing of this offer and even though I showed them the website they refused to honour the deal...so we paid for the wine . When we got the bill it had our room number on it and we signed for amount...only to be phoned from reception 10 minutes later to come down and pay as we hadn't left a credit card on our account (we weren't asked to) ...it couldn't wait until checkout we had to come down then! It was quite embarrassing as it looked to all the people sitting in reception like we had walked out without paying The room although is supposed to be the height of romantic luxury and advertises mood lighting at the freestanding Bath had one light flickering, one light blinding bright and one light broken....the taps didn't match...one looked like a cheap kitchen tap....its poor for what is supposed to be the best room in the hotel. We brought all this to the attention of the duty manager but on checkout this morning ....it was just the normal "how was your stay"....it will be our last stay was my answer!

We went there as a family of 4 to mark my daughters confirmation. Early check in and late checkout was organised by reception with no issue. Darcy even left treats & a personalised card in the room for my daughter which just added to how special she felt. We had great fun in the lovely pool, had a lovely meal in the bar. We were very impressed with the variety on the menu. The cinema room is fab too! Our room was clean and spacious and we all slept well. The hotel had a wedding & a 40th the same night but the staff managed all with ease. We will definitely be returning.

I stayed in this hotel last weekend for a wedding. I had booked a twin room. The room was a fantastic size and included a double and single bed. The bathroom was a great size with a separate shower and bath. The shower pressure was great as well. I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay in this area. Buffet breakfast was also perfect, too.

Recent family reunion and we stayed at the Hillgrove. All was lovely except for the vegetarian and vegan food choices. I was the only vegan but there were a few vegetarians. All of us had issues with the food choices especially in comparison to the fabulous meat choices for others. Non-meat choices very limited….& a plant-based burger is the most incredible lazy option for any restaurant to offer. It, along with the veggie sausages, were vile. Real shame as the hotel was lovely as were the staff

Excellent experience, we had booked the Hen package for my sister's hen do and had an absolutely fantastic time. Staff were very friendly, great organisation, the spa facilities and mini treatments were wonderful and we had such a relaxing afternoon. Food was delicious and finished off the night in the bar with a live singer. Rooms were clean and super comfortable and great breakfast options the next day. Everyone who came was very impressed and we had a fantastic time!! Most importantly my sister loved it!

Overall service was excellent. Room was spotless and was very comfortable. Tea & coffee with complimentary bottled water was a nice touch.Buffet Breakfast and evening dinner was superb 👌 😋 Leisure centre was a real bonus. Will stay again soon 👏 John from Galway.

A fabulous stay. 5 Stars all round. We were checked in by Anoja who was working all weekend and couldn’t have been more helpful or welcoming. Erin was a true star. She is exceptional at her job but she made the stay all the more special. She spoke to us like we were part of her family. She made sure we were so well looked after. Especially on the Sunday night as the bar was exceptionally busy, she and Christine did their best to get us a table so we weren’t waiting a while with a tired baby. Siobhan made sure we had everything we needed and more while we ate in the bar. Gránia served us in the bistro where we got the most delicious food and service. She’s a credit to the team. Chef Tibby is a genius with flavours. The picnic he packed us was the best lunch we’ve ever had. I will be recommending the #seetheunseen package to all of my friends and family.

An excellent hotel ..spotlessly clean with excellent service and polite and welcoming staff in all areas of the hotel. Excellent range of foods at breakfast , with freshly cooked hot breakfast choices. We ate in the bar on both nights and were not disappointed, though a cold fish starter to the menu would have added some variety . Lovely Leisure and Spa facilities , suitable for young children as well as serious swimmers. Katie in the Spa, gives a great body massage !!! Only negative was that some areas would be improved with a new coat of paint eg battered swing doors but given how busy the hotel seemed to be , this might be difficult to achieve without closing the hotel .

The staff were very accommodating I sent my parents on a breakaway the staff left card and big bar of chocolate to wish them a happy birthday.my parents both enjoyed the service and food in the hotel.they will defo be back they have stay in this hotel numberous time and are always very happy with the service.
