Newforge House

From the moment we arrived at Newforge House, we were made to feel completely at home. The warm, welcoming staff set the tone for a truly memorable stay in this beautiful period house, where every detail reflects care and genuine hospitality. The setting is elegant yet relaxed, with an atmosphere that blends old-world charm and modern comfort perfectly. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the outstanding food, lovingly prepared by John, who showcases the very best of local ingredients with skill and creativity. Every meal was a delight — from the beautifully presented dinner to the fabulous Ulster fry in the morning, which was simply the best we’ve ever had! It’s rare to find somewhere that feels both so special and so welcoming. We left refreshed, well-fed, and already planning our next visit. We can’t recommend Newforge House highly enough — an absolute gem.

We recently had our third stay at Newforge House last week and as usual it was exceptional. On this occasion it was just my wife and I. The two previous occasions were a 50th birthday celebration at which 10 of stayed and the other previous time a family gathering. Everything about our stays has always been fantastic. The ability to have pre and post dinner drinks in the drawing room if desired really makes it an extremely relaxed stay. The dinner is always exceptional as is the breakfast. Each room we have stayed in has been fabulous. If you are considering a night away I would not look past Newforge House . John and the team provide the highest level of service and food that makes it a thoroughly enjoyable stay

We have just arrived home from an overnight stay at this wonderful establishment. John and the team provided excellent hospitality and amazing food. We felt very well looked after and had a brilliant experience. A very relaxing time in a great setting.

I would like to thank John, Colette and Christine for a wonderful stay at Newforge House. My husband and I booked to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The whole team went out of their way to give us a very personal welcome, making our stay particularly memorable. We enjoyed champange in the beautifully kept gardens. Dinner was exceptional, showcasing high quality, local ingredients. We stayed in the Hanna room which was very comfortable and offered fantastic views across the grounds. Much like dinner, breakfast was superb. A selection of fresh fruit, yoghurt and cerials were followed by a tradional Ulster fry. Thank you again for a wonderful stay. We look forward to visiting again soon.

My son was home from Canada for a week so we decided to go to Newforge house for a stay over and also to sample their food. We were met at the door by John the owner who gave us a very warm northern Irish welcome . The room was spotless and very spacious. The lady Catherine who served us our food could not have done enough for us and made us feel very much at home. The food was on another level. It was all localy sourced ,fresh and so much work and thought had gone into every meal. Probably the best food we have sampled in a long time. One of the best places I have ever stayed in . Well worth a visit.

Staying at Newforge House is exceptional from start to finish. John has a great experienced team who really know how to look after people and make everyone feel special. The food John prepares is always superb, his culinary skills are exceptional, the timing for all diners, perfect. Our room choice is Hannah, which we find quiet and comfortable (though I am sure they all are) Already looking forward to returning next year, highly recommend you stay here and enjoy the great food and service, truly 1st class.
