From the moment of our arrival, the staff were incredibly friendly and could not do enough to help. We were offered a coffee while we checked in. The secure car park, just a minute down the road, was excellent and definitely worth the small extra cost. The room was extremely comfortable, clean and had lots of character. The air conditioning was effective, and while the bathroom felt a little dated, it was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast in the café which forms part of the hotel was incredibly relaxed, and could be taken inside or outside. There was a great variety of pastries and cake, as well as fruit and yogurt. Something we loved about breakfast was that the locals were dropping in for their coffee etc at the same time, so we felt part of the town. This is not the usual anonymous hotel but one where you almost feel as though you are guests in someone's (very fancy!) home, with complete privacy. This was enhanced by the owners being foremost in the staff who care for the guests. Most of the restaurants in Modica may be down the hill, but we found three places to eat within ten minutes walk so this was perfect. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Thank you!

From the moment we arrived, the staff could not do enough for us: they parked our car (the car park is an absolute boon, since Modica is a city of steps, steps and more steps; you'll have a job finding a parking place anywhere near where you're staying - and hire a small car: the streets are very, very narrow, and the citizens drive very, very fast!!), they helped us up to our room with our bags and they advised us on what to see and where to go. The service was smiling and friendly and prompt, the room was large and comfortable (we chose to pay more for a large double) - the ceiling height had to be 20 ft or more and was beautifully frescoed: I lay in bed in the mornings just looking at it - and the shower in the bathroom was excellent. Despite looking onto the street, our room was very quiet at night, too. You do get the odd Vespa zooming by like a large hornet, but not often (this was March, though; not July), and it didn't prevent sleep in any way. The hotel is perfectly positioned for easy access to the great churches of Modica, too, though you've quite a descent to the main shopping street, so beware of that if you are in any way challenged in your legs. The breakfast was sumptuous! The best coffee in the world, and delicious filled croissants. They even made us a sort of croque monsieur every day. Opposite the hotel, there is an excellent wine bar/wine shop for those interested, and they serve cocktails, too. All in all, I couldn't praise the Hotel Failla enough, and we can't wait to go again - possibly later in the year: we are already looking at flights.

A real family business where all welcomed us with charm and friendliness. Wonderfully equipped with lovely furniture and rugs - a place with history you feel that you can share and enjoy. For us it was enjoyable and very relaxing to spend a night here

Veniamo accolti dal proprietario che ci racconta che l’hotel era la casa della nonna ed è tutta qui la differenza! Si è accolti in una casa dell’Ottocento con i mobili dell’epoca e si è trattati come ospiti di famiglia con ogni cura e con mille consigli ( tutti da seguire) e anche con la cura di parcheggiarti la macchina “ dove non si paga e non ti fanno la multa” Gli aneddoti di una vita e i consigli su dove andare, dove mangiare e cosa vedere sono un patrimonio prezioso per un viaggiatore.. torneremo quando riaprirete il ristorante per provarlo ! Una dimora storica, gestita con garbo e raffinatezza dai proprietari. L’ospitalità offerta attinge allo stile e al rango familiare: premurosi, di una cortesia non mercantile; affabili, ma non invadenti; disponibili e pronti ad essere artefici del benessere del cliente. Le camere suggestive, nella loro permanente sontuosità, di spazi da vivere. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo!

Abbiamo soggiornato in questo palazzo nobiliare di modica gestito direttamente dai proprietari di una affabilità ed ospitalità unici tanto da far passare in secondo piano qualche lavoro di manutenzione che la struttura necessita. La camera grandissima dal tono vintage soffitto altissimo e decorato bagno un po’ datato ma comunque comodo ed efficiente colazione ottima con prodotti locali in particolare un caffè ottimo. Da segnalare il vicino ristorante taverna del colonnello ottimo è gestito da una brigata giovane .
