유토피아 미요(Huttopia Millau)

It looks lovely. The river is clean, daytime paddling is gorgeous and activities are plentiful. But huttopia prides itself on unspoilt nature. Unfortunately you cannot enjoy this because of constant traffic on the adjacent road. So nature is definitely spoilt by the noise of traffic. Being in a tent, sleep is difficult when scooters and lorries are active even in the very early hours. Added to which, a noisy bar across the road plays loud music late into the night.

What is an excellent huttopia expérience during the daytime (all ingredients for a wonderful time in nature, activities and great atmosphere) turns into a discothèque at night. Apparently there's nothing to be done, but until deep at night (2:30AM) the bar and the party goes on, forgotten about families on the campsite across the road. It's not a happy marriage, nor is it a good way to promote the brand that huttoppia carefully built. NB: yes we did mention it to staff, and no they can't do much. Besides asking the police to drive a extra round.

We booked a classic cottage for 3 nights at the camping. Although we asked for a quiet location, we get the cottage the closest to the bar and swimming pool, which means every evening we have the noise of the entertainment and the smell of the pizza's and french fries. But the cottage was very clean and ok. There is no airconditioning in the cottage. The showers in the sanitary block at the camping were a minus: the water temperature is very hot and not controlable. So to wash children this is not ok! The staff is very friendly at the reception desk. you get all information you ask for. We booked also linen for the beds, which was not available at arrival but within 30 minutes this was ok. The camping is located at a 10 to 15 minutes walk of the city center of Millau. It is ideal if you want to kayak or do any other sport as all this is nearby the camping and you get a discount as a guest of Huttopia. The swimming pool is open from 9 in the morning to 9 in the evening. A minus for the swimming pool is that the water depth overall is 1m50, which is quiet deep for children. The border of the pool is also quiet high according to the water level, which makes it hard for smaller children. Also, there are not many chairs around the pool and the wood around the pool is not ideal as it gives splinters. At the camping there also is a playground, which is not big but ok for childrens entertainment.

Zeer vriendelijke ontvangst bij aankomst op de camping. ACSI kaart accepteren ze niet, maar er werd een speciale Huttopia kaart gratis aangeboden en uitleg gegeven over de voordelen hiervan. De dag erna moest er eea uitgeprint worden voor mijn werk en de man bij de receptie was heel behulpzaam hierbij. De plekken zijn ruim en midden in de natuur. Sanitair is schoon en netjes onderhouden. Een mooi zwembad en centrale ruimte waar je kunt lezen, tv kijken of koffie kunt drinken. Ofschoon wij aan het eind van het seizoen er waren, 19 september tm 21 september, werden we zeer gastvrij ontvangen. De camping is de t****e ervaring die wij hadden met de huttopia organisatie en zeer zeker een aanrader. Wij komen graag terug!

Bien situé près de la ville, de très beaux emplacements un accueil très chaleureux, des sanitaires nickel et un camping très calme. Vous vous couchez avec les écureuils et vous prenez le petit déj avec les canards. Installez-vous sans à priori !!!

Le camping de Millau est très agréable mais nous avons été très déçu de notre emplacement tente. Nous avions choisi un "Confort+" vendu comme étant ombragé et notre emplacement était à la rage du soleil de 10h à 16h... Pas vraiment ce que l'on attendait avec des enfants petits.. Quand nous en avons fait part à la réception, aucune solution n'a pu être proposée, on comprend le camping était plein mais on aurait au moins aimé un geste commercial.. A 70 € la nuit, on ne retentera pas l'expérience.
