I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent experience at the hotel, Quinta da Palmeira Country House. On 17/08/2023, I made a reservation for two adults and one infant for a two-nights stay. The reservation was made through *********** and was confirmed. When I arrived at the hotel, I was informed by the owner that I could not be accommodated because the only room available was in the main house and that my daughter, who is one month old, would be too noisy and disturb the other guests. I was very surprised by this response, as at the hotel page on *********** states that it is "family-friendly" and there is no mention of any age restrictions. Additionally, the hotels at the surrounding area were fully booked, so no other options for us with a baby. I was very polite to the owner, but he was very rude and unhelpful. He told me that there was nothing he could do and that I should find another place to stay at 8pm. I am very disappointed with the owner's attitude and the way I was treated. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone and I would never stay there again. I expect with this to prevent other people from having the same unpleasant experience I had.

The hotel is very well kept, amazing views from the pool which has a convenient but not cheap honesty bar. Not sure if the pool was heated or it was because of the warm weather but it was a plus for the kids! The room was very comfortable, large and perfectly cleaned. Only downside was no A/C. Jack the owner and the lady at breakfast were very polite and professional in every interaction and kind enough to charge our EV - there is only one Tesla charger. Breakfast had all the basics with fresh ingredients. Hotel is very well located if you’re looking to explore the beautiful surrounding villages of Piodao, Benfeita, Coja and Fraga da Pena.

Reading the responses from the owners confirms how they operate. They simply justify themselves without truly addressing concerns. Their arrogance clearly comes through. Glad we cancelled. BTW, they will charge you exorbitant fees for cancelling well in advance. Don't bother booking this one. There are far better places not far from here with the customers' needs in mind.

Um Hotel intimista, reconhecido pelo seu design e a Quinta da Palmeira possui 8 quartos inesquecíveis. Tudo excelente! Conceito do hotel é fantástico. Funcionários de uma simpatia extrema. Pequeno almoço muito bom e variado com produtos naturais da região.

De accommodatie bevindt zich echt op een super plek! De perfecte plek om lekker tot rust te komen. Met een prachtig zwembad om lekker in af te kunnen koelen. Ideaal voor bezoekjes aan de watervallen of het bergdorp Piodao. En een super gezellige en vriendelijke host!

Testemunho de colega "Ontem fui fazer check in e não me deixaram ficar porque disseram que a bebé era muito pequena e ia fazer muito barulho e incomodar os outros hóspedes. Onde na Booking deu para fazer a reserva para 2+1 bebé e dizem que são kids friendly. Discriminação e publicidade enganadora."
