The Mercersburg Inn was a wonderful place to lay my head after a long day of driving down from Boston on a road trip. I had a broken foot and they helped me with my bags, the dining room was charming and the food was delicious (I had scallops and risotto for dinner — highly recommend!). There was even live music in the dining room and it was wonderful for the ambiance (not too loud, just right!) My room was lovely and put me back into the 1900s in terms of its lovely antique furnishings. But the very comfortable bed and pillows, soft robe and free WiFi provided modern comforts as well. Breakfast was served, not a buffet, which I loved. And the innkeeper gave me a gift bag with snacks and waters for my journey the next day. She even hooked me up with bags of ice for my cooler. I really appreciated the extra touches and above and beyond attention they gave me. The setting and surrounding gardens are beautiful and there are plenty of comfy seats on the wraparound porch to enjoy the watching the sun set beyond the mountains. This is definitely more than just a B&B, it's a wonderful inn experience. I would definitely return for a weekend out in the beautiful Pennsylvania rolling countryside.
