Positive: Good location (near the valley station), size of the room, WiFi and TV worked. Negative: Nearly no german speaking, not so clean, very old building. Breakfast buffet: Miserable for the price of Fr. 54.00 for 2 adults and 1 child (14 years). For this price you can expect something different. Orange- and multivitamin juice very watery and without pulp (probably from the tetra pack). Meat/cheese buffet: the same types every day (ham, meatloaf, salami, cheese slices, brie, cu-cumber and tomato slices). Quality of the ham: Cheapest variety (pizza ham) from the vacuum pack. Salami and cheese are also the cheapest products from the supermarket. Salami may have been in the fridge for several days. Fruit salad is a finished product from a can (not fresh); possibly also in the refrigerator for several days. Complaints communicated in writing; was ignored and not answered. Conclusion: Never again (there are enough hotels in Meiringen that are rated much better and are not more expensive).

- positive: friendly staff, clean, nicely located, good breakfast - negative: curtains didn't cover the whole window so not possible to keep daylight out, too expensive for what it was, rooms are pretty old, room had connecting door to another room, so you could hear everything from that other room, noise from floor outside practically not blocked by room door because it is very old and not soundproof at all. Many noisy co-tourist.

Quite spacious room and was very clean (they cleaned on daily basis). Room had an excellent view of the famous waterfalls. Walkable to the all 3 tourist attractions. The friendly reception tops it all. Only the breakfast could be improved- but I found that lacking in all the Swiss hotels during this visit ;)

+ Die Lage ist gut und die Betten waren bequem. - Im Badezimmer hatte es Schimmel und die Kopfkissenbezüge hatten Flecken. ABER das Allerschlimmste war das gebuchte Abendessen! Hände weg, wenn euch euer Leben lieb ist. Die Hälfte ging ungegessen zurück. Tiefgefrorenes Essen, von extrem schlechter Qualität und das zu einem saftigen Preis. Auf Kritik ist überhaupt nicht eingegangen worden. Im Gegenteil wir wurden beschuldigt gelogen zu haben. Es macht es auch nicht besser, dass sie absolut kein Deutsch und nur gebrochen Englisch geredet haben. Wenn ich könnte würde ich Minussterne verteilen!

Leider ist es so. Das Zimmer ist in Ordnung, aber auch das Fehlt es an alles Ecken. Fenster dünn, alt, Balkon ok, aber auch in die Jahre gekommen. Renovierung notwendig. Das Restaurant ist nicht zu empfehlen, Schnitzel und Gordon bleu sind vom Tiefküher. Unprofessionell in alles belangen. Kenne mich aus, habe auch in der Gastronomie gearbeitet. (5 Sterne) Frühstück kann man essen, ist aber sehr ausbaufähig. Schade für so einen guten Namen. (Sherlok Homes)
