Exactly as what says on the tin ! Lovely family owned guest house... Were very warmly welcomed and showed around with lots of advise. Only downside is the area does not have a restaurant which was open in the evening , only takeaways but in the end found one across the road for some vegeburgers and chips... Lovely breakfast in the morning Highly recommend !

A friendly , comfortable guest house in Matatiele. Stayed twice on our way to Lesotho and back again. Rooms are spacious and clean with every thing you need. Beds are comfortable. Pretty gardens and lovely home cooked dinners. The host is an excellent tour guide in Lesotho with years of experience. Thank you Elrita and Phillip, your guest house is wonderful!

Wonderful establishment! Neat, clean and welcoming. The rooms are big and have everything you need. The linen is of good quality. Elrita made the most amazing home cooked meals. Everything about this place is just amazing. Thank you!!!!!

We visited Resthaven Guesthouse on 6-10 January, and we again enjoyed the wonderful, warm hospitaility of Philip and Elrita. They really went out of their way to cater for dietary requests, and to assist with anything that might make the stay more comfortable. The rooms are very comfortable, the location is excellent, the parking is easily accessible and very secure. They clearly put in great effort to maintain the facilities to a very high standard, and to really serve their customers. Thank you very much, once again, for a wonderful stay.

What a true gem this place is. The warm welcome and hospitality is outstanding. Philip gave us a lot advice about Lesotho and places to visit, he knows all the best spots and is very passionate about tourism. He also took us on a off road experience to a lake in the mountains and showed us around. We were there for two nights waiting to get through Lesotho border, it’s closing at 4pm on Saturday and reopens on Monday. Rooms are very spacious and clean and of course do not miss the famous steak, the best in SA! Delicious. Thank you so much and we hope to be back one day.

What a heartwarming welcome arriving late on a rainy Sunday evening. We phoned ahead to indicate we will arrive late, and were assured no problem. And no problem it was! I can only sing the praises of the security people on duty at both gates - friendly, informative, true hospitality. Arriving in the middle of loadshedding posed no problem - everything was powered, even the microwave in the room to heat the dinner left in the room. Spacious well equipped room and en-suite bathroom. Tasty breakfast with a wonderful host. What will add the 5th star? A simple sms before arrival to enquire any dietary preferences/no-nos would do it.
