Really warm welcome! The best place that we stayed in Italy! So helpful during our stay!

A really great place to stay - as close as you need to be to all of Matera. There’s bars very close by so if you are a light sleeper or get upset by loud music- you may want to be further away. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful, i would stay again. If you get breakfast at Alto - its ok once but there’s so much choice its worth trying different places. Lunch & dinner in Matera will be fabulous Keiv is great, pizza place 100yards from this hotel - there’s 2 & both are great.

A friend and I often travel to Matera for writing retreats. Instead of staying at our usual hotels, we wanted to try a new hotel and we weren't disappointed. After a 5-day stay, we've decided the Palazzo Montemurro is our new favorite hotel and we can't wait to stay there again. The Palazzo Montemurro has been recently restored yet retains its Old World charm Antonella was there to greet us and help us to check in, and she made us feel very welcome. Our room was beautifully appointed and had everything we needed -- very comfortable beds with soft bed linens and firm pillows, a modern bathroom that still retained some of the original details of the palazzo's history, WiFi, and a fridge where we could store snacks and bottles of water. The palazzo is conveniently located near the Sassi and many popular sights and restaurants. Though breakfast isn't served at the hotel, guests receive vouchers which they can use at a nearby café. We enjoyed the short stroll to the café every morning. We really loved staying here. We've already decided that we'll be booking a room here again when we return for our next writer's retreat. The Palazzo Montemurro is an absolute gem!

1) The lady who manages the place is very nice, helpful and accommodating 2) Make sure to book a room with a balcony or a window, our room had no window except for a tiny Velux up there in the ceiling, our room was dark and felt more like a prison cell 3) Furniture, bathroom, bedding, everything has been picked with taste and is of very high quality 4) Breakfast is extremely bad, there is no word for it, very bad, the hotel has an arrangement with a bar down the road (it’s called lounge bar but really it’s plastic chairs and tables with bad sandwiches), very dirty, tables are dirty, waiters are dirty, hygiene is at its worst 5) The hotel is 30 seconds outside the old town, you’re not in the heart of the old town but super close to it

In pieno centro storico,a pochi metri dai sassi. È una piacevole sorpresa incontrare un livello di accoglienza così elevato. Ottima la camera,con particolari veramente unici. La colazione e' esterna alla struttura. Materasso comodo come i cuscini. Camera silenziosa con tende oscuranti che funzionano. Consigliatissimo. Rapporto qualità prezzo in linea con l'offerta. Parcheggio su striscie blu davanti l'ingresso della struttura. Matera, città ben predisposta all'accoglienza turistica,gli abitanti non sono "negativi" al turismo (come a Capri,Firenze e Venezia) ma sono dei validi sostenitori del visitatore regalando sorrisi e gentilezza. Bravi,avanti così! Viva Matera.

Accoglienza incredibile:avrei passato ore a chiacchera con i proprietari,persone con vasta esperienza di vita e massima empatia. Palazzo splendido,pulizia accuratissima,camera iper_confortevole. Cosa non trascurabile per me e mio marito ,entrambi veterinari,gatto e cane muniti,scatola pet friendly di benvenuto. Ci siamo sentiti a casa. Ho acquistato uno splendido zaino ,creato dalla signora con materiale eco_sostenibile,che con altri oggetti,faceva bella mostra di se' nel bellissimo ingresso. Grazie.

Perfekte Lage, perfekte Gastgeberin, perfekte Unterkunft. Sehr sauber, stilvoll und mit viel Charme eingerichtete Zimmer. Es gibt wirklich nichts zu bemängeln. Obwohl sehr zentral gelegen, findet man immer einen Parkplatz direkt vor der Unterkunft ( 4€ / 5€ pro Tag). Landestypisches Frühstück in einem Café nebenan. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt :)
