This hotel is in a great location, only a 5 minute drive from the cavetown. It has great views of the surrounding mountains. There is a very nice restaurant serving authentic dishes from the region. My room was a bit dated, but was practical and had great views. The only downside was the limited heating in the room that impacted the quality of my sleep.

Amazingly situated hotel with a great staff - special recognition for the Armenian woman at the restaurant who was attentive to our needs, tolerated our noisy kids and made a birthday extra special! All staff were extremely helpful in accommodating our requests with small kids and older grandparents. Great restaurant with regional specialties. We will certainly be back!

This was unfortunately the least satisfactory hotel on our trip to the Caucasus. We did not have a reservation and the hotel was quite full, so I expect that we got the last two rooms. Logically, these should be the worst rooms. Ours were cottages, not in the main building. One, a triple, was right next door to the backup generator. It is great that the hotel has such a system, but it is not great to be next to it. The shower was so blocked that it was unusable and the hot water in the other room ran out part way through showering. The beds were very firm (not to our taste) and one of the provided bottles of water had clearly been opened and used. It just didn’t feel loved. The WiFi was intermittent, which might be an issue for some people. Breakfast was good, and was available from 09:00 - 11:00. This was a bit late for us. Before 09:00 the breakfast room was reserved for a large tour party. The hotel is probably the only one in the area that can accept tour groups. On the plus side it has great views from the grounds (not from our rooms) and is very near the cave monastery.

This hotel has the most gorgeous grounds and view, worth an extra day just to relax. Ask for a room on the front with a view. Breakfast selection excellent. Meals were very good. Staff very helpful. A must go.

The upside to this hotel: it has a beautiful garden and 2 pools to relax and swim after a long day of traveling or hiking. Vardzia caves close by. The rooms of this hotel are a little outdated. We had strange, not fitting furniture, wifi was down most of the time, small bathoom, beds were not really comfortable and the food in the evening at the restaurant was mediocre at best (I don't like bones in chicken filet for example). Breakfast was good. I have mixed feelings about this place. The staff was nice, the pool was great but the room was not value for money and this hotel was compared to our other hotels in Georgia very expensive but less in quality.

When it comes to accommodation in Vardzia, there is Vardzia Resort and then a heaping pile of mediocre budget hotels. We’ve stayed at the resort twice and loved both experiences. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, the rooms are modern and comfortable, the on-site restaurant offers up some of the best food we’ve had in two years living in Georgia, and the twin pools are great after a hot day hiking to and from the Vardzia Complex (a 30 minute walk). One of our favourite hotels in Georgia.
