리아드 차피아(Riad Chafia)

We stayed for 3 nights in the Riad and it was great. The highlight was the staff for me. Rachid and Marouane, as well a women from the house keeping, made our stay to what it was. Supportive, kind and always open for a nice chat about what to do and how things are going in Marrakech, phenomenal. The taxi was organized and Rachid guided us from the taxi drop-off to the Riad, well appreciated. The rooms were cleaned well and had everything what we needed. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom practical. We were not in the room most of the time, so it was more than enough. We had the room Lilla. I missed a minibar a little bit. The breakfast on the rooftop was always a great start into the day. The hammam what we did on our last day was nice and good, but expensive for the service how I assume. What I didn‘t like was the the only cash acceptance in the hotel for the transfer and hammam booking in EUR. Furthermore the birds can be really loud in the morning.

This is a very average Riad. The team who runs it only put the necessary time and effort, so we didnt experience the Moroccan hospitality everyone talkss about. The breakfast was very industrialized, mainly types of bread and Dannone yogurt. It didnt seem that they made the beds everyday. The first floor is EXTREMELY noisy, since the loud doorbell for the Riad is in the middle of the Patio.

My mom and I had an amazing stay at Riad Chafia. Youssef and his colleagues really went above and beyond. Every morning we enjoyed a lovely fresh breakfast on the sunny roofterrace of the riad. The rooms were beautiful and clean, and although the beds were a little hard the room was comfortable and nice. The riad is very quiet which is nice, having spent all day in the busy medina. Again, compliments to the staff. They were very helpful, arranging taxi's and advising on where to go, eat out, and how to get there. Youssef also arranged for us to go on a guided tour through the medina, which was great! Our tourguide Hassan was very nice and told us a lot about the culture of Marrakesh. We really recommend staying at Riad Chafia and will for sure visit again.

Brilliant, clean and airy Riad hotel with friendly staff who went the extra mile for us. For example, they made us packed breakfasts when we had an early tour departure. Thank you for a lovely, relaxing stay!

Everything seems so perfect but our room was on the ground floor, the bathroom had strong cat wee smell , it was so strong, that all my clothes put in the bathroom wardrobe absorbed all the smell after out 1st night stay. Situation didn't improve in our next 2 nights. Final night we had no hot water for shower after a long tour, only to find out the boiler was broken down and they need to reset. Other than that we had no problems

The real highlight of this clean, comfortable and nicely restored Riad at the heart of the medina was the helpful staff, who came and met us at our parking lot to guide us into the medina, made sure we were well hydrated with mint tea, and kindly let us schedule breakfast to best meet our timing. It was a real contrast with my first Marrakesh riad experience, where we booked an entire riad (on an unnamed booking platform that happens to rhyme with share bnb) and experienced service that left us lost, cold (literally), and with concentrated juice during the peak of orange season. Not here! Freshly squeezed orange juice abounds and the breakfast was a lovely medley of local Moroccan breakfast classics. Riad Chafia itself has clean, comfortable rooms with lovely water pressure and high thread count sheets. Lots of comfortable and photogenic nooks for lounging as well as taking cute social media photos. When you're ready to brave the medina madness, all the Marrakesh highlights are just a comfortable 10-15 minute walk away. I recommend dinner at the Djemma al Fni meat vendors- brave the hawkers and plunge into the inner stands for a slightly relaxed experience. The Riad was very responsive by telephone for any last minute logistics or questions (we spoke French but the staff spoke English as well) like parking. Overall a great experience.

The wc has no door or tent, so it is in open view from the bed, it is impossible to have some privacy unless your partner goes out from the room. Breakfast and dinner are served on the roof, which is nice but freezing cold in winter. Breakfast is served in reverse order than in Europe, some fruit salad and juice first and only after some time coffee or tea and at last bread and salty things. Beware of extra request: a bottle of water € 2,50! A tea €2, a cup of fruit if not previewed in the menu € 6. The last day breakfast, requested in advance at 7, has been denied but served to other guests! The personnel requested first 40 Euro per room for local taxes, then 20, then had to accept that everything has been paid in advance. The check in sheet had to be filled by us, the personnel refusing to do it.

Riad Chafia is a wonderful accommodation to experience Marrakech up close. The riad is beautifully located in the center of the medina. The team is very professional and very kind. I can recommend Riad Chafia to everyone. An absolute must!
