You must have your own car to brave the VERY rough ride to this property. The unpaved road is ridden with potholes that one must endure for at least 1 hour before you set foot at Ka Bru. Once you get there, though, it truly is one of a kind. Nestled between the Cassange beach and Cassange Lake, it's a natural wonder and human marvel to have built such a luxurious hideaway. Breakfast was a feast and nicely slow, allowing you to enjoy the sensational, uninterrupted ocean views. We also enjoyed the late afternoon cake and coffee as well as the cashew caipirinha! The staff were always attentive, especially Fran, who took care of us during our stay - nothing was ever any trouble. You must be prepared to either dine at the property or take a 30-minute drive to Barra Grande for lunch or dinner. And while delicious, the serving size for the meals were not as generous. The other minor dining setback is the property doesn't provide free drinking water - so bring your own and stock in the room fridge. There's development happening in Barra Grande, which might make this property easier to access from there some day. In the meantime, its location, while nicely remote, makes it feel more of an expedition. So here's the thing: if you're after a getaway and are prepared for a little inconvenience, this property is a beautiful piece of unmatched paradise. Bring your own sturdy car, toughen up a little, pack those things that you'd take with you if you were going to a remote island -- a good book, a couple of movies, and your sense of adventure.

Such a beautiful stay. Incredibly remote, which we loved. The staff is beyond wonderful - while we expected to get by using translations and minimal Portuguese, Alexander spoke English and made sure we had everything that we needed. He gave us wonderful beach and restaurant recommendations which were the highlight of the trip. The food was great at the restaurant and we’ll miss the daily breakfast spread and amazing coffee. Will be back!

This is a very stylish hotel in a beautiful location about which the pictures certainly do not lie! The front opens out onto a beach which goes for miles in both directions, and which was practically deserted. The sea was a bit rough for swimming when we were there, but the paddling was good when the tide went out. On the other side you have a lake fringed by forest. There are only 6 rooms. The staff were very attentive and helpful at all times. There is a limited choice for lunch and dinner, but this changes every day and the dishes were always tasty and very well presented. All in all very relaxing and peaceful - everything we hoped for. We really liked the style of the place, too. You need to be aware that getting there needs a bit of planning: from the BA001/BA030 junction is to 30 km on the BA030 to Cassange - this is a wide but rough dirt road, and will take about an hour. At Cassange you turn off onto a small dirt road - sandy in places - which runs for about 5 km to the hotel. You soon run out of roads on Google maps on this last part, and we had no network anyway at this point. I would not attempt this in a regular car unless it had high clearance. We had a 'Jeep' which was just about OK. Expect a bumpy adventure. We made side trips to Taipu de Fora and Barra Grande, and took a boat trip from Porto do Joel across to Ilha de Boipeba (a bit bumpy on the open sea, too!).

Perfect place in paradise. Stay in the Panorama room with the great view of the sunrise and ocean and lush greens all around.

Hotel maravilhoso! Um charme só. A vista é deslumbrante, um ótimo lugar para descansar e desligar do mundo. A estrada até lá é um desfio, mas vale a pena. Comida sensacional, atendimento de alto nível, fomos muito bem recepcionados. O café da manhã é bom, no ritmo da calmaria baiana, sem pressa mas muito bom. A acomodação era organizada, bonita e grande (Ficamos no quarto master). Pontos negativos: há moscas na hora das refeições, o lugar é dentro da natureza então não há o que ser feito. A comida é bem cara, muito boa, porém cara. Houve um dia que a roçadeira de grama não parou um minuto, tirou a paz do lugar. Houve um momento que passaram veneno de formiga enquanto estávamos na área da piscina (de dia). Ainda assim a estadia foi muito muito boa, voltaremos com certeza.

Bom! Hotel com uma estrutura lindíssima. Cardápio bem reduzido, atendimento na piscina médio . Tivéssemos problemas para chegar, falta de informações e péssima sinalização.
