바르셀로 훼일 라군 몰디브(Barcelo Whale Lagoon Maldives)

I don't know how to describe this resort so let's start with the fact that I have stayed at Barcelo in Spain several times, both privately and in a work context. First of all, I want to agree with previous reviews, Barcelo Maldives is a magical place where the camera does not have the ability to capture the beauty of the island. Stayed here 10 nights with the AIP-package. As for the hotel rooms, they are absolutely fantastic, both tested Sunrise Villa and Sunrise Water Villa. In simple words, the rooms can be described as modern, relaxed and magical. When it comes to the service, it is ok however there are a few individuals who stand out and there I want to highlight Ayran, Manish, Mithum and Rejin in Breeze, who is exactly the people you want if you want to have a memorable vacation! They delivered a level that is admirable. However the service is below average in many areas of the resort as an exemple during service in Sea Salt where you have to wait about on average 30 minutes for your drink after ordering both at breakfast and dinner. Which somewhat spoils the experience because you have time to eat quite a lot in 30 minutes at the buffet. When it comes to food, Sea Salt, Breeze, holds a high level while Aqua, which should be fine dining, can rather be described as an magical restaurant with low quality food, nothing that stands out and the truth is that the food in Ses Salt or Breeze is better with this said "nothing innovative". Major changes are required here to live up to the "image" in line with other reviews here on TripAdvisor. Shot-out to chief Marco in sea salt for delivering amazing food in Sea Salt! Paying extra for AIP vs AI is not worth it as there are minimal differences between the packages. They should instead focus on 1 package. The activites offered on a schedule are a bit like a lottery sometimes they happen and sometimes they don't. However, when they happen, they were often good and funny. Ex pizza baking for children, face painting however water aeroabics never happend as an example. Last but not least, one of the reasons why I strongly recommend guests to choose another resort than Barcelo Maldives for the period ahead is their handling of "problems" where I have never before encountered a more disgusting handling than Barcelo Maldives. See below summarized handling of a "problem": Our daughter (5 years old) falls ill one of the days in fever with diarrhea where the fever persists and on day 4 of fever we choose to ask to see the doctor where it turns out to be free of charge, which may sound fantastic but now comes the truth. During the doctor's visit, history and temperature etc. are taken and the doctor has prescribed antibiotics for preventive purposes. The reason for the antibiotic is that before she got raw chicken served in Sea Salt so the doctor thinks it is good if she in the very unlikely event has ingested minor bacteria or if she might have gotten a urinary tract infection however big maybe on bot

Magnifique ! Inoubliable ! Séjour en famille au Barcelo Whale Lagoon Maldives de 9 jours. Nous nous sommes sentis comme chez nous, le personnel est super agréable et attentionné. Un grand grand merci à Munaz, Ibrahim, Salee et Risma qui nous ont permis de passer des moments inoubliables. Un merci également à tout les autres membres de l'hôtel qui ont rendus l'expérience la plus unique possible. Passons à l'hôtel, que dire … Idyllique. Rien n'est laissé au hasard, tout est bien pensé. Le cadre est bluffant, les chambres sont propres et parfaitement exposés. Nous étions coté lever du soleil, donc coté Lagoon, l'eau est une mer d'huile et rempli de coraux magnifiques, parfait pour se baigner et profiter du snorkeling. Les piscines sont bien agencées également et la piscine coté activité nautique est très agréable et calme. Le restaurant Sea Salt est gourmet. Il y a du choix et c'est varié au fil de la semaine. Les cuistos sont très sympas et cuisines très bien. Le poisson en général est top. Les verrines en entrées sont superbes aussi. Léger bémol pour les desserts, ce n'est pas le point fort disons avec peu de choix de fruits et de pâtisserie. Mais ce n'est rien à côté de l'excellent buffet proposé. Point important, peu importe l'endroit ou nous nous trouvions, nous avions toujours l'impression d'être seul au monde, dans notre cocon, que ce soit à la piscine, à la mer, au restaurant, ou bien en faisant le tour de l'ile. Très calme et c'est très très agréable. Attention, seul point négatif de ce voyage, le prix des activités/souvenirs sur l'île….. Peu importe l'activité que vous souhaiter faire (jet ski, plongée, bateau…) cela est très cher. Sans citer d'activités particulières, je pense qu'il sera nécessaire de revoir les prix à la baisse de manière général sur les prestations proposés. Idem pour la boutique de souvenirs, 50$ pour un tube de crème.. on s'en souviendra. Enfin, 15$ de facturation pour un petit pot de douche en argile malheureusement cassé.. Au prix du voyage, c'est abusé. Pour conclure, un voyage parfait. Une destination à faire au moins une fois dans sa vie. Idéal pour se reposer et profiter de la magie de l'océan (snorkeling, plongée…). Les raies mantas était au rendez-vous durant notre séjour, inoubliables !!! Spent 11 days here on this stunning island. It’s beautiful, the staff are great esp the staff in the restaurant and swapneil making the eggs at breakfast, sorry i didn’t get all the other names but all are so friendly, helpful and attentive. We had a sunrise water villa which was brilliant, def recommend walking up and down the villas walkway a couple of times a day to see the many sharks, stingray, eagle ray, fish etc. The snorkling is pretty good too around the island, we loved going out to the sandbanks and were luckly enough to catch a glimpse of two sea turtles playing and a huge manta ray swimming around and of course a load of fish. The sea parrallel to the sand bank on the left is incredible on a calm day, it’s like a bath so still and clear and warm. The dive centre also has brilliant staff. Great tours- we swam with a whale shark (but be warned it is carnage!! a ton of boats turn up and it’s crazy in the water with everyone fighting, you will get kicked in the head by someone so take a life jacket, I ended up needing to get one off the nearest boat because I couldn’t cope with the mayhem. We did the turtle snorkling too and saw one deep down. The free snorkling tour is pretty decent too, much bigger fish than in the local bay. You can borrow all masks and fins if needed. I’ve knocked off one star purely on the basis that between lunch and dinner there is no free snacks included in the all inclusive, when you’re snorkling for several hours working up an appetite or if have kids with you it’s a long time to go between 12ish and 7pm ish without anything to eat (unless you pay). The food in general is lovely, fresh, lots of choice and a clean restaurant but I’ve never stayed in an all inclusive that you can’t get a snack or ice cream for free in the afternoon.

Die Hotelanlage ist extrem schön und wirklich paradiesisch. Die Villen sind alle sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und in einem sehr guten Zustand. Wir hatten eine Wasservilla auf der Sonnenuntergangseite. Das Bad ist extrem schön und die Aussicht vom Bett direkt aufs Meer ein Traum. Minibar wird leider spärlich aufgefüllt. Restaurant und Bar war sehr gut. Im Aqua als Spezialitäten Restaurant passt leider im Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis nicht. Die gartenanlage ist extrem schön und gepflegt...paradiesisch! Schade, dass extrem wenig Programm vom Hotel angeboten wird. Die Basis für Wasserausflüge ist leider nicht zu empfehlen. Sehr teuer, Hausriff ist absolut unspektakulär und die Ausflüge schlecht organisiert. Keines der Tiere haben wir gesehen (walhai, Manta, Delfine)..ich würde auch abhauen, wenn 7 Boote gleichzeitig mit 70 Personen mich behelligen würden. Zum Ausspannen, Genießen absolut zu empfehlen das Barcelo!

We have had the best time here. My husband and I took our daughter for her 21st birthday. It was magical. Spotlessly clean everywhere. The staff were so friendly and attentive, knowing our names from day 1. We had 9 days on this beautiful island. The spa facilities were perfect, the food was wonderful. The entertainment was great. Very quiet island so perfect to relax and unwind but enough to do to occupy you such as water sports and boat trips. For me as an inexperienced snorkeler I was able to snorkel safely exploring the magnificent reef. Beautiful fish and coral to see. The reef boat trip was an experience. I never thought I’d be snorkelling in the ocean with sharks. Definitely a 5 star resort.

We had our honeymoon at Barcelo whale lagoon! First, and before anything, I would like to mention that Barcelo staff is amazing, polite, very humble and they make you feel home and special. The journey started with a super welcoming service from Male airport, they took our luggages and made us comfortable in the lounge waiting for our sea plane.The resort it self is incredibly good, beyond our expectations! We booked the water villa, it was amazing with maximum comfort and privacy! But also we have seen the beach villas and how looked nice and people booked it they seemed to be super happy as well. You really feel how you are special there, they take care of every detail! Fazeem welcomed us in such a nice way! House keeping is super nice and respecting your privacy and your comfort. In the villa it self, it’s super clear that they take care of every single detail! You literally don’t need to take anything with you! Pools are very clean and the pool bar was such an amazing experience it self! Excellent service and drinks! Everyday at the pool, Robby was taking care of our activities! His energy is outstanding, we had such a good time with him specially the aqua gym and beach volleyball that he organized for us! The resort offers many restaurants! All very good quality and amazing staff! I have tried diving 2 times with Barcelo dive center! The service was very good and amazing brand new equipment! I was just un lucky not to see good marine life! But that’s nature! Our check out was as good as all things mentioned above! I used to see from hotels more unique check in than check out, but at Barcelo no! They made our flight back to the airport easy and well organized ! At the airport we met Saeed and he made sure that we made it till the flight check in! I am so sorry that I didn’t write down all names to give them the credit if making us happy! Also as I already have experience in the hospitality field, I would like to thank the general manager for his kindness towards the staff! You really feel that everyone there works happily! Thanks and hopefully to see you soon again!

We had a 30th anniversary celebration here. It really is an amazing place. The resort is laid out really well. You can always get a sunbed and a table at dinner. Special shout out to the guys in the Breeze Bar especially Manish &Naseeb . The bar tender Mithun who makes the best margaritas & Suresh. The restaurant manager Shathir & his team are great at accommodating your dietary requirements, shout out to chef Pavan. You will see the senior management team especially Noor are always available to guests. Robbie was great at pool aerobics.

Excellent service from front desk and sea salt. Food is great the resort is beautiful. We did snorekeling trip. We stayed 2 nights on the beach and 2 nights over the water . Room is beautiful and service from housekeeping is neat. We would like to come back. Thank you

C’est la quatrième fois que nous venons aux Maldives. Cet hôtel est très récent. Magnifique. Les gens qui y travaillent sont super nous avons pratiqué le centre de massage ou Esther et sa collègue balinaise donnent de super conseils et ont réussi à nous faire oublier le prix un peu élevé des massages . J’ai aussi longuement pratiqué le centre de plongée avec Abou et Mahadi ils sont tout les deux très bien ,deux très bons Plongeurs qui font tout leur possible pour vous faire faire de très belles plongée, raies mantas requin baleine ,napoléon , requins de toutes sortes gris , silver tip pointes blanches et autres raies aigles , raies mobulas de beaux coraux aussi même si ce n est pas la spécialité et toute la faune de petits poissons … les chambres pour notre part bungalows sur pilotis couché de soleil sont au top . Les piscines très biens et la plage aussi . Le chef Marco venu de Mayorque en espagne pour proposer une alimentation de très bonne qualité tout ou presque est fait maison et excellent voilà je pense ne rien avoir oublié ma note est 5/5 Christophe et Ingrid PERRAUD
