Another fun amenity for the island is the "Stumpy Bus", a volunteer-run free shuttle in the form of a decorated 8-seat golf cart. Grab a cocktail and hop on board to most of the bars/restaurants on the island. They work for tips so bring some cash to share the love! Finding fossilized sharks teeth is a favorite find of beach walkers and you will find many among the mounds of shells. Snorkel in the crystal clear water for sand dollars and everything tropical. Put up your umbrellas and spread out because there’s tons of room on our uncrowded beaches. For all you fishing enthusiasts, the area is the second largest marine estuary in the state. You will find hundreds of species in our waters. Nearby Boca Grand is the official “Tarpon Capital of the World”. The area has dozens of boat ramps so bring your boat. We have plenty of room to park. (Local boat rentals are also available through local businesses.) In addition to being renowned for its fishing, Boca Grande is widley regarded as the most exclusive coastal enclave in Florida and you'll marvel at the historic and famous Gasparilla Inn.
