Beautiful place, good food and wine. Helpful staff. Stayed over a weekend for a friend’s birthday celebration. Room was spacious and very comfortable. Lovely pool area with sensitive landscaping of entire property. Strongly recommended.

The Gallicantu Stazzo retreat is truly majestic. From the day we arrived my wife and I felt relaxed, at peace and totally in sync with the chilled Sardinian countryside living. The beauty of the hotel speaks for itself. The grounds are expansive and there are dozens of quiet spots to take a pause and fully immerse yourself in nature. The pool area is very quiet with the gentle sound of running water. Our favourite spot, under a huge olive tree where they serve aperitivo, was beautiful and the treasure hunt we were presented with at the start of the holiday ensured we explored every inch of the stunning property. The food was fresh, local and varied every day which we really enjoyed. The highlight was pizza night where a specialist chef fired up an old stone pizza oven. Breakfast was in a different league. Veronica presented freshly baked biscuits, breads and cakes, along with cheese, prosciutto and yoghurt, and we fully indulged every morning. Our room felt spacious and extremely relaxing. Despite being underneath another room we felt it was very quiet and peaceful all the same. Not much happens here after dinner but that suited us perfectly and is in keeping with the style of the retreat. It is quite a remote location so I would ensure you have access to a car, but it’s relatively close to beaches on either side of the island and there are some nice hikes nearby. The staff were all extremely friendly and looked after all our needs. Matteo and Laura were exquisite hosts during every meal and Rosella was extremely welcoming, always on hand to help us out and showed us around. My (very few and minor!) suggestions for improvement would be nicer tea bags available for use and perhaps a kettle in our room so we could help ourselves to hot drinks. Also, considering the dinner is a set price, it might be nice to include water for free as well in that. Overall, we are in awe at what Marco and his team have created here. The attention to detail is just stunning. Everywhere you look it feels like you’re discovering more about this wonderful property. We came with the ambition to explore Sardinia but we felt that we found our own piece of paradise and we were very sad to leave. What a fantastic experience. Thank you! We’ll see you again soon.
