The Other House South Kensington

Been there with my wifey, what can I say... Fancy coloured place with luxury furnitures. Staff is cool, especially Andrea, one of the finest barman I've ever had the opportunity to get to know, his New Orleans is a must, try it! They also got a spa and a pool that is not bad either! Fair price for the area, recommended!

Had a wonderful 2 night stay during the August bank holiday weekend. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay! The reception team were warm and friendly upon arrival , our room was amazing and cosy. The wellness centre was relaxing with hardly anyone there so we had loads of privacy. Last but not least the bar and cocktails were 10/10, the lovely Amira who works behind the bar made us feel so special and delivered the very best guest experience. We will definitely be going back again soon !

This hotel is abominable and I think 4 stars should be taken away from it. They are unhygienic and do not at all clean the rooms. Do not recommend it. Even after complaining no action was taken. Horrible.

An excellent hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and spacious rooms with comfortable beds and many amenities. Walking distance to the Victoria and Albert as well as the Natural History museums, Kensington Palace and Hyde Park. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Much superior to other hotels we have stayed at in this price range.

Great location. Very welcoming staff. Great facilities, especially the pool and private members lounges. I like the idea of the ‘flat’ rather than a standard hotel room. Excellent value for money and very comfortable stay. I would recommend to anyone.

Hotel nuovissimo, non è un vero e proprio hotel infatti si chiama “l’altra casa” quindi troverete una piccola cucina, un forno e un grande frigorifero. Ambiente particolare ma per me molto bello e con grande stile. C’è la piscina, la palestra, una libreria dove sedersi sui divani e leggere o lavorare in pace. Servizio di check in e check out molto amichevole e personale. A 2 minuti c’è che la metro di Gloucester Road, nello stesso isolato ci sono molti ristoranti e locali per bere. Bella esperienza, ci tornerò di sicuro. Personale giovane, molto gentile e molto disponibile.

Hotel bellissimo nulla da dire… Organizzazione splendida! Punti dolenti: Pagamento della camera effettuato 2 volte per errore dello staff! Cambio degli asciugami non compreso nel servizio, deve essere fatto a richiesta, ma nonostante la nostra richiesta non è stato effettuato! Potenzialità da 5 stelle! Realtà da 3 Peccato

Das verkehrsgünstig in South Kensington gelegene Hotel hat Stil: Du betrittst es und bist sofort verzaubert vom ungewöhnlichen und ansprechenden Design. Farben, Stoffe, Materialien … alles kreativ und professionell aufeinander abgestimmt. Einzigartig und ausgefallen sind auch die Cocktails, die in der Bar angeboten werden, und vor allem das hier und im Restaurant beschäftigte Personal ist gut gelaunt und vermittelt den Eindruck, dass es dich wirklich gerne als Gast empfängt. ABER: spätestens nach der zweiten Nacht beginnt das positive Bild zu bröckeln. - Das überall gleiche Design (Symboltiere: Eule und Affe) von der Tapete über die Schürzen des Küchenpersonals bis hin Kaffeetassen und Schirmen wirkt aufdringlich und langweilig. - Du fühlst dich gegängelt, wenn es zum Frühstück immer die gleichen Sachen gibt, und du verstehst es nicht, warum nur pochierte Eier angeboten werden. Weil diese einfach besser zum Lifestyle des Hauses passen? Meine Frage nach einem einfachen Rührei wurde abgelehnt. - Bekannte und beliebte Cocktails stehen auch nicht auf der Karte. - Das Haus hat sich "sustainability", also Nachhaltigkeit, aufs Panier geschrieben und bietet beispielsweise selbstgefiltertes Wasser in Glasflaschen an, um die Plastikflaschen-Flut einzudämmen. Gute Idee, aber gleichzeitig sind die langen, meist leeren Gänge des Hotels stark überheizt. Und auf den wahrscheinlich nicht billigen "Highland Tweeds"-Decken auf den Zimmern steht "dry clean only". Nicht gerade umweltfreundlich. - Dass es auf den Zimmern kein Telefon gibt, und man mit der Rezeption nur per WhatsApp kommunizieren kann, ist zwar ungewöhnlich, aber ok; schließlich leben wir im 21. Jahrhundert. - Zur Not auch tolerierbar ist, dass die Zimmer nur auf schriftlichen Antrag hin (mit einem Tag Vorlauf!) gereinigt werden. Was aber überhaupt nicht tolerierbar ist, das ist, wenn trotz Bestellung der Reinigungsservice dann einfach nicht erscheint. Dabei hätte beispielweise unser Bad mit seinem ganzen alten Staub und den Flusen auf dem Boden dringend einer Reinigung bedurft. Wohlfühlen geht anders.

Everthing was wonderful for the first three nights, the suite comfy, spacious, and well-appointed., and the staff lovely. Then came Friday evening and loud music from the bar began to pulse through the walls. I called reception and asked when it would be over and was told around midnight, which is two hours from now. The gentleman who answered the phone said he would ask the bar to turn it down...the volume may have then been lowered to some degree, but the bass is still pounding and I am finding it impossible to work, read,or sleep.
