I’ve never stayed anywhere this expensive in my life and I’ve never been so disappointed by a resort for three reasons (1) honeymoon policy (2) staff and (3) service. (1) My husband and I booked Planet Hollywood for our honeymoon because it seemed great online. We arrived at Planet Hollywood 3 days after getting married, expecting to receive the honeymoon package that we had read about in the Costco reviews for this resort. I had called the hotel before our trip to confirm that Costco Travel had noted it was our honeymoon, the hotel told me we were all set. However, upon arriving, the staff told us that we couldn’t have the honeymoon upgrade because we didn’t have our marriage license with us. We live in CA and you need to submit your marriage license within 2 weeks, so we had to submit it before traveling. We tried to tell the hotel staff this, but they didn’t understand English very well. They kept saying: have a friend at home email you a picture of it. We kept telling them- it’s been turned in to the gov’t, we can’t get a copy of it. If we had known before (if they had told us when we called to confirm) we would have brought a copy! We offered to pay for the upgrade, then get reimbursed after submitting the paperwork when we got home, they said no. The manager was extremely rude/dismissive to us and didn’t understand the problem at all. They didn’t understand a honeymoon is something you do once in your life, this is the most expensive vacation we will ever take. The first night, the manager called and COMP'd us a private beach dinner, which was nice. However, the honeymoon upgrade would have given us the private dinner plus the VIP status that comes with exclusive areas, better food/drinks, and service. So, our entire 10 day trip, we were constantly confronted with aspects of the resort we couldn’t enjoy because the hotel made a mistake. Another note to potential honeymooners- this resort is FULL of kids and families. Every morning we heard children running up and down the hallway screaming. Not very romantic. (2) The staff did not speak English very well. They misunderstood us constantly and regularly got our orders wrong. Half the staff were extremely kind and helpful and the other half were extremely rude, they’d give us looks like we were bothering their relaxing when we asked for whatever service their job was, or they’d ignore us completely. (3) The service was awful. By the end of our trip, we learned to order 3 sodas at the beginning of the meal because there’s no chance you’ll get a drink refill. If you order a drink when you first sit down to a meal, you’re lucky to get it when you’re halfway done with your food. It genuinely did not feel “all-inclusive” because it was such a struggle to get a simple soda. The first day, we ordered room service. After an hour, we called to check, and it had been delivered to the wrong room. Additionally, the alcoholic drinks weren’t alcoholic. I don’t know how they accomplish this, but I have n
