Twice denied reservation at the restaurant although staying there, for the first time and attempting to book a room for the second time today, which will be the very last as far as I'm concerned. There was no special event. This may come from the attitude of some of the managers who have very little business motivation, complain they are overwhelmed , and can't manage reservations. Last Saturday, restaurant mgr claimed they were fully booked. We ate fast food (so - so) at the bar, as we didn't want to go out, and noticed 90% of the tables were empty from 7 pm to 8:45 ! We understand French people have little respect for bookings and punctuality, but that should be also understood by management. AI to the rescue ?

This was our second time visiting this hotel in August and our second time was better than the first! Special mention to the staff who were all so friendly and helpful. We were having such a great time we decided to extend our stay for an extra night and the reception team sorted it straight away and also kept us in our same room which was greatly appreciated! We ate in the restaurant on the second night and absolutely love the views from the terrace. Great food in a great setting, the same with breakfast!! We were just sad we didn’t have time for breakfast on our last morning. Thank you to the whole team for making our 3 nights there really wonderful! We will be back!

Stayed in this hotel on our way to Bordeaux. Welcoming and friendly staff members, good and interesting variety of food and great to have a pool. Sat out on the balcony to eat in the evening. Particularly liked the nautical themed deco. Very relaxing and would love to return

Our annual visit, we love it. Easy access, plenty of parking. disabled and EV are catered for. The location is spectacular the hotel is a joy, the rooms are a delight. The staff try hard. The breakfast is magnificent, you will not need much lunch. The pool area, the bien-etre, is now open throughout the day, a big improvement.

This is a wonderful place to stay for many reasons: lovely, well-decorated hotel, welcoming staff everywhere, cozy bar, delicious restaurant with sea view, beautiful indoor pool and a small outside wading pool. It's located outside the city center in a calm area.

We have an annual visit for a week late summer, why? It is our favourite hotel, in a very pleasant town. Familiarity increases the experience. Our top of the range sat-nav thinks the Zoo is the Hotel. Turn right, not left at the final critical Y-junction. Plenty of parking, some dedicated, electric charging available. Staff are excellent. We were pleased when we got ones which did not speak much Englich, it improved our opportunities for practicing French. Our bedroom was a delight, a good size with balcony, the view - the outside pool, Lac de Tanchet and Bay of Biscay. The only criticism we have is that although there are plenty of lights the illumination is poor. The room furniture can be summed up by noting that there is an electric shoe cleaner on each floor. Breakfast and dinner offerings excellent. Although the Le Paquebot menu might become wearing if one ate in all week.

Staying here for seven nights during our three weeks in France was the accommodaion hightlight. Assess is best done with a satnav, plenty of parking but generally not many spaces available. Cycle storage in a large shed. At least two EV charging points, some disabled bays. Our good sixed bedroom with balcony provided a wonderful view over Lake Tanchat to the Atlantic.. Well appointed bathroom with plenty of shelves and hooks. This illustrates the standard of the hotel, everything is well thought out. Breakfast excellent including smoked salmon, oysters and sparkling wine. Dinners first class, we used the Le Paquebot menu which incororated the 'plat du jour' - highly recommended.

Although this hotel is marketed and focused toward tourists / holiday makers it really looked after our party while in Les Sables d'Olonne on business. Good food (as you'd expect) and excellent hospitality made the trip a real pleasure. It's one of those few places you visit on business and think 'I'd really like to come back here on holiday'.
