This was a good place to stay. The staff was friendly, decent buffet breakfast and It's close to restaurants. My TV didn't work so front desk moved me to another room. The only issue I have is the gym. It was small and very basic. Other than that, it was good experience!

The accommodations are nice and layed out well. There is a couch, desk, chair, microwave, small fridge and small coffee maker. The bed is to be desired because it’s a mattress laid on a board and the pillows are super soft. It makes going home so much nicer.

Overall, my stay was fair. The good: I noticed this is a newer property, it does look well kept.. staff was friendly. Breakfast was decent though limited. Was pleased to see a microwave in the room. Noise wasnt an issue. Location wasnt much but its Kinston. I come from the city so i was just thankful to be walking distance to a Starbucks, Walmart, and a couple of fast food options (check out Smithfield for good local bbq) The bad: My room was extremely humid. So much so that towels/ washcloths did not completely dry, my dry clothes would be damp by the next morning, and the bathroom floor stayed slick. I was ok with it since i was only there 3 nights or so so didnt bother switching rooms/complaining. But I was in a handicapped room on the first floor (104) and this seems like a safety hazard for actual handicapped guests. Second bad: Housekeeping went through my luggage! As an avid traveler, i have a certain system when leaving my room so i can tell when my things have been tampered with. Thankfully i didnt travel with valuables but if i did, im sure it would have gone missing- why else is staff going through my belongings?! Because of this breach, the next day before leaving I turned up my tv volume and put the do not disturb sign on the door so nobody would have a reason to enter. When i returned around 9pm, my tv was off. And no, it doesn’t automatically shut off- i left it on overnight just to see. No noise complaint was filed.. so why were they in my room again?? Be VERY cautious using this property. Manager was understanding and credited a night of points. But again, lock your things if u travel with valuables.

I called on March 1st and Booked 5 rooms for our Company and spoke with a female desk rep by the name Kelly and was given a group rate and given confirmation So I passed that information on to the Owner of the Company and while on a conference call Kelly again confirmed our rate at that time we issued Marriott our credit card . After our stay was completed The Total Amount owed changed after speaking with The District Manager Cindy who promised to rectify the problem which obviously she didn't I then spoke with a Mr Kelly who again promised to fix this nightmare Obviously he didn't upon check out Marriott over charged out company over $ 3000 dollars and now we have to get Lawyers involved ! I'm wondering if it's just This Location that's stealing or if it's a Worldwide policy of Marriott !

The hotel did not have hot water four days in a row. The General Manager, Jim Franks would not return my calls but spoke through Andrea the front desk clerk who was very nice and professional and assured me not once but three times that I would be reimbursed with additional points for every day for the terrible inconvenience of not having hot water. Room was nice and large but not cleaned properly before I arrived. The shower had water marks from a previous guest. . A housekeeper entered my room without knocking on my second day at the hotel. I explained to the front desk that the shower had not been cleaned properly prior to my arriving at the hotel. The bathroom floor had stains and had not been moped. The common area of the hotel also had not been properly moped and maintained because it showed stains as well. Please do not enter the room after I check in to the room with your key. The Front desk clerk (white female) entered my room without knocking about 1130 am on my 5th day. She and the GM claims that she tried to call me. I didnt have a missed call from them on my cell phone nor did the phone in the room ring. Why not knock on the door before entering a guest room? Stop with the disrespect and blatant disregard for an individuals privacy. You are rude! I asked for assistance loading my luggage in my car and the front desk claim no one was available to assist me. A housekeeper told me they are pissed off with you and not going to help you. It took my over an hour to leave this little hotel and finally maintenance man assisted me. The General Manager, Jim Franks claims I threw a key at his front desk clerk. A key? Really (A paper/plastic key) You are not qualified to manage anyone and it shows with the rude staff you have. I didnt break the hot water in the raggedy hotel which isnt fit to be a Marriot property without hot water. The hotel will likely have another bed bug infestation since you didnt have hot water at the hotel on the four coldest days in December. Please stay some place other than this nasty hotel with rude staff, Andrea at the front desk was very nice consistently unlike the rest of the rude unprofessional folks at this property, Two weeks prior I encountered a very nice gentleman Mr.. Whitehurst at this property but didn't see him during this stay. Hotel needs a new General Manager!! Large variety of breakfast items but the oatmeal was sour. I wonder how they were washing dishes with no hot water. They certainly were not sterilizing anything without hot water at the nasty hotel.
