실켄 팔라시오 우리바렌(Hotel Silken Palacio Uribarren)

We booked this hotel 6 months prior to our holiday. It was the last 2 night stop during a two week holiday in Basque and Rioja regions. As we wanted to rest a bit before returning home we reserved a seaside view room with a balcony. 10 days before our stay, we were notified that the room was not available but we could either cancel our take a road side room. We still tried to book another hotel but due to the short timeframe we were forced to take the lesser room. The room had no airco but a ceiling fan that made a huge noise. The minibar refrigerator was so hot you nearly boil an egg on it. At night we left the window open to get some cooler air but had to keep the thick curtains closed due to street lights. Result: we could hardly sleep and had no possibility to rest on a balcony during the day. .As compensation we received 2 days of free parking. We will never set foot in hotel of the Silken chain as they ruined our planned rest stop. Tu us this trea**ent was unprecedented.

We loved our deluxe sea view room with wooden floors and a terrace overlooking the beach. Wonderful views. There was plenty of storage space, the bathroom was large and the shower excellent. It was great to have beach towels provided in the rooms. The receptionists were friendly and extremely helpful. I think it might get a bit too hot in the high summer months without a/c but the large ceiling fan was fine for our stay. We were pleased to have an allotted car parking space (albeit rather expensive). I loved the location on the beach and being able to pop out for a swim several times a day so easily was just perfect. So perfect, in fact, that we returned a few days later for another couple of nights! A lovely stay! Disliked · We really appreciated having a coffee machine and a kettle in our room but the leads didn't reach the socket without moving the whole set-up. Our coffee and tea supplies were a bit inconsistent but the receptionists were happy to let us have what had been missed. We were there at the end of September and the hotel was lovely and quiet but we were told that the festival at the start of September can be very noisy.

Right from check in I found this hotel to be one of my very favourites. Excellent service, wonderful rooms and great views out to sea. The town is a beautiful coastal town with a great community and fantastic restaurants and bars.

2 nights by the sea, between Bilbao and Sam Sebastián (1 hr by car). Very friendly, helpful staff. Good clean room, lovely terrace overlooking the sea and harbour, highly recommend. Swim in the sea, shower in your room - perfect! Lovely walk to San Nicolas island and views back to the shore.

This hotel is the perfect stop in a road trip in basque country . The hotel is ideal , beautiful , nice and good quality.

The best position within this delightful coastal resort, being situated in the heart of the town next to the cathedral and only moments from the marina. All the staff we dealt with were helpful and friendly and we soon checked into our first floor room that had a full width balcony overlooking the beach, marina and island. The room was of a good size with ample room for storage and tea/coffee making facilities, as well as a mini bar. The sumptuous bathroom had both a bath and a double shower cubicle. The spa area is in the basement with a lovely saline swimming pool, jacuzzi, well equipped gym and relaxation areas. We only ate breakfast at the hotel that offered a excellent buffet selection of hot and cold choices. The spacious public areas and terrace and very well furnished and the bar provides reasonably price and a good selection of drinks and light bites.

Nice hotel with fantastic sea views. We stayed in "deluxe rooms", which are very big and have a nice terrace. There was a huge bathroom. Personnel was very friendly. The town is really cosy, with a lot of locals and Spanish tourists. We didn't use the indoor pool or jacuzzi. We had dinner which was wonderful. Breakfast could be better: I suggest to organize show cooking, because all the hot meals, like eggs, bacon, churros were precooked and only lukewarm.

super hotel , amazing location, great room, tasty food good breakfast and decent well prepared evening choices, very friendly efficient staff. Thoroughly recommended. Try tppo get a room overlooking the beach!
