We decided to stop here for 4 nights on our way through France with no preconceptions regarding either Bernay or the hotel. How glad we were that we did. Bernay is a lovely, safe town with a large mainline station within walking distance of the hotel. It has a wide variety of restaurants that vary on opening hours during the week so prepare to be adaptable. The hotel itself has ample off road parking and entry is by door code (via email) which some people may find a little daunting. If you struggle with mobility there is one ground floor room, further rooms are up a delightful staircase over another couple of floors and vary in size, so read the details prior to booking based on your requirements. Breakfast is very good with assistance available should you need it, with a selection of patries, rolls, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, meats, cheeses, boiled egg, juices, tea and coffee. The sun lounge is great with a pool table should enjoy a game, on route to the outdoor heated pool which we used every day of our stay and is delightful. Our room (Honfleur) was spacious with a huge bathroom, very comfortable bed, fridge and fan (should it be required). We absolutely loved our stay at Le Clos des Lodges and would not hesitate about returning or recommending it to other travellers.

The building was recently thoroughly renovated. Everything is modern and new. The host, Ingrid, was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. I had a bike and she found a secure place for me to store my bike. The pool was a blessing as there was a heat wave while I was there. It is located only a 10 minute walk from the town center where there was a variety of stores, shops, cafés, restaurants and all other essential services. The town of Bernay itself is a lovely, medieval town that is very centrally located for visiting a whole variety of touristic sites in the nearby area (lovely towns, scenic country roads, châteaux etc.). It is also on a direct train line with Paris (about 1-1/2 hours by train from Paris) and the round trip tickets only cost about 60 euros. I will be returning to this place again I'm sure and continue to explore this lovely region. Disliked · There was nothing I didn't like about this establishment. I'll return again the next time I want to visit the area. If there is anything someone doesn't like about this establishment then they are probably just unhappy campers.

Ingrid our host was super friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The accommodation was in a lovely big house with lots of room to relax. The decor was spot on and the breakfast in the morning was excellent and set us up for the day. The town is a short walk away and has lots of shops, restaurants and bars. Very happy to recommend staying here.

Stumbled across this place online when looking for an overnight stop between Calais and the Vendee and were delighted by it. A cosy house, with honesty bar, shared conservatory and communal areas. The family room we booked turned out to be an entire suite of a double sofa bed room (with fridge and coffee maker), double bedroom and huge bathroom. Outside the beautiful garden, deck and pool were a big bonus. Owner was welcoming and helpful. Short walk into town and a choice of lots of lovely places to eat. A great stopover. Thank you

Bien mieux que le rendu en photos du site. Tout était bien : jolie maison avec salon et véranda très agréables. Bon accueil et si on est hors horaires on peut checker-in soit même (on reçoit le code d'entrée à l'avance). Très joli jardin, très agréable endroit avec piscine et transats très calme. Piscine chauffée, c'est bien agréable ! L'hôtel n'est pas loin de la voie ferrée et de la route mais ce n'est pas gênant, (il y a du double vitrage dans les chambres). La chambre est assez petite, mais très confortable, surtout le lit et les draps qui sont très doux. Excellent petit-déjeuner buffet très complet avec charcuterie et fromage. On n'est resté qu'une nuit car c'était complet ensuite mais on aurait bien passé plusieurs jours pour se prélasser, le jardin et le coin piscine sont très beaux et agréables. Billard à disposition dans la véranda. L'hôtel est situé à 10 mn de marche des restaurants du centre de Bernay. L'hôtel fonctionne avec deux restaurants de Bernay, très bons tous les deux : La Quintessence et Le Carpe Diem. Prix vraiment très correct, très bon rapport qualité-prix. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir. C'est beaucoup mieux en réalité qu'en photos. Critiques : Chambre un peu petite et pas très bien insonorisée, on entend ses voisins (surtout les portes) et on entend les bruits du dessus à cause des planchers.
