Comfortable, characterful room at a moderate price. Extremely helpful and welcoming reception staff. Sited in the centre of Laon’s old town with free parking nearby. Only drawback was there is no air-conditioning in the room we stayed in, though we didn’t need it as the temperature was cool for the time of year.

Quirky, friendly and value for money. Well worth the climb to the room at the top of these historic stairs. We only stayed one night but the helpfulness of the staff, especially with the parking, means we will both use it as a future overnight stop to and from Calais, and recommend it to friends.

This hotel was a real find. Recently renovated the room was spacious and bed comfortable. Nice touches in this old but stylish property. The host was friendly and courteous and gave good recommendations for dinner. Breakfast was good and I can recommend the coffee. The city is renovating the building opposite but this caused no trouble. We will stop here again on our next trip.

Friendly, helpful, with a fine sense of history, well placed for the cathedral, and not expensive -- I highly recommend the Hotel Les Chevaliers in Laon. Two hours from the Calais coast, this medieval town is a convenient overnight stop on journeys south. But it deserves to be a destination in its own right, and not just in transit.

If you want modern fittings, lifts and consistency don't come here, go to an Ibis (which are good in their own way). The hotel is centuries old with many interesting features that you feel very much in keeping with the atmosphere of Laon itself. That said the rooms have all the comforts you need, and everything worked. The concierge was welcoming and very helpful guiding to us to some restaurants that suited us. The breakfast was good and set us up for the day. The Les Chevaliers is well located, in the centre of the town yet not noisy with public parking nearby. If you are driving navigating the narrow streets and one way system take patience but it is worth it.

Right in the centre, next to the city hall, the hotel is at a formidable location for exploring the old town of Laon. Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff was welcoming and helpful. Free overnight parking was available in front ot the city hall, during the day parking is limited to one hour (zone bleu).
