A very large resort a small supermarket but if not all inclusive would be a problem as to getting cabs to the local town could get expensive Night life for kids good but adults cannot even seat outside in the evening s with a drink as pool bar closes at 6 pm Unless you go to the payable restaurants and champs sports bar not very good if paid for all inclusive We was in block 7 but as there are still steps to the lift if getting on a bit would be a problem as me and my wife 70 and 65 years Overall as we had our son his wife and 3 small grandchildren but they 4 minutes walk away why we wasn’t put nearer each other one would never know but we did not book at the same time they were near the reception and dinning room but did have a few cockroaches in there room trying to use the microwave Overall good resort large pools

We returned from this hotel, after a week, yesterday. We hired a car at the airport and to be honest, if you’re staying here, you need one! There is nothing, close by apart from the hotel. The resort of Teguise is probably a forty minute walk but you can get a bus from outside the hotel. The room was lovely, recently renovated with loads of space, a large balcony too and we had paid for a sea view. We also had a fabulous view of the power station with smoke coming out of the chimneys …. not sure how healthy that is! The cleaning was hit and miss, you couldn’t walk barefoot on the floor because it definitely wasn’t cleaned properly. It was all a bit of a rush job, make the bed, change the towels , that’s it. We were half board and the food was the worst bit. Unless you got to the restaurant for 6.30 ish you ended up queuing for a table, not what you want on holiday. The food was worryingly cool and we avoided meat for safety reasons. Salad was very basic and the food in general wasn’t that great. Breakfast was better but stuff like bacon and sausages looked a bit grim, we had mainly dry stuff and fruit. Even the yogurt was in big bowls, uncovered with people breathing over it and dipping in… yum The island of Lanzarote has improved so much since our last visit, ten years ago , we drove all over and it’s so beautiful and unspoiled. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday but I think we will rent an apartment next time.

Booked & stayed for 9 nights in Late January, very pleased all round. Food was plentiful, plates were hot, selection was marvellous, nothing to complain about. Reception Staff were brilliant, cleaning Lady was full of personality, bar staff were good. Location was perfect one Euro to get into Town on the bus or four Euros in taxi and all were similar. Great walk along the promenade to Costa Teguise Town 50 metre pool was well worth the 3 Euro charge, lots of activity in the day, evening entertainment did show some great Artists, especially the 3 singers. All in All I cannot wait to return. 5++++++++++++++++

Currently staying at the barcelo and unfortunately several things have disappointed us this time. We have been 3 times before as all inclusive guests and we’ve always had water in our room. This time apparently they no longer do this. 🤷‍♀️ The food on the one side of the hotel (previously the occidental) the selection is terrible where as the other side isn’t too bad it’s just too busy. Should have the same choice both sides as some people can’t get over to the other hotel. Toilets are not looked after, general cleanliness isn’t good. As for the all inclusive it gets less every year. The champs bar is usually all inclusive and we were disappointed we ordered drinks and had to pay as it’s not all inclusive till the summer season. Why??? There is absolutely no reason this should be the case. Misleading people! No longer a 4 * star hotel

The resort was ideal for us with the facilities it provides meaning we didn’t have to arrange anything once we were on site. Our days were pretty well based around activities in the gym, on the road, 50m pool and sun lounger! It’s our first Lanzarote trip and first AI vacation anywhere. We’d recommend AI if you’re thinking of a visit as there’s not much else around in easy reach.

We’ve just returned from a 7 day holiday at the Barcelo. We had a lovely holiday on the whole and would like to return if the following areas below were improved as there is a lot of positives also about the hotel. Positives: The hotel building, cleanliness, layout are great; the restaurant, food, staff were good and friendly, along with the cleaning of the room, great gym and Olympic sized swimming pool too! Areas for improvement: 1. Toilets by the pool were very dirty and were clearly not serviced very much in the 7 days we stayed there was no soap in the dispenser on any day. Plus they were dirty and smelled awful. I never saw a cleaner near them during our stay. 2. All Entertainment (both daytime and evening) was very limited and what there was it was poor. Considering we were there during the Easter holidays we expected this to be much better than it was, particularly during the day. We had a 10 year old, there were very few activities for this age group. The evening entertainment was particularly poor with duet singers most night singing great songs (badly)! 3. Pool bar food - there was freshly prepared food behind the bar, although not a great selection, which you could neither see properly to choose, there was no menu of what was on offer and unfortunately the staff serving, although they were very friendly and helpful couldn’t clearly explain what was on offer so we ended up having to go into the proper restaurant for lunch but would have preferred to have had a casual lunch in the pool bar. 4. Cleaning (jet washing) of the pool side/around the loungers - for some reason this was left until around 8/9am most days (from the day before) which meant the area was not fully cleaned, dry and sun beds rearranged, if you wanted to relax with a coffee after breakfast. If the above points were improved we would happily return as the rest of the hotel and facilities were great.

The hotel was very nice and recently renovated inside with large communal areas to spend time on. The pools were very pretty, although the pool bars were quite disappointing. Very good breakfast. The rooms were very large and nicely kept, however there were small bugs in the bathroom especially at nights and I've seen many cockroaches in various locations in the hotel during our stay. Good restaurant and bar options. The location was good for a nice stroll by the sea and a 30 minute walk along the coast line towards Costa teguise. A nearby local restaurant, Casa Tomas was a lovely place to visit

We loved our stay here. We arrived and had been given a free upgrade to a sea view room which was lovely! Room was spacious and extremely clean. The housekeeping staff were really friendly and always did a great job. No water was provided in the room so make sure you buy some. Great little supermarket over the road and not expensive. It is a large resort so it is worth taking the time to go and have a look around on your first morning so you know what is where. We chose to base ourselves at the Breeze pool and there were always plenty of beds, with plenty of room around them so we never felt on top of any other parties. The pool was nice and large with a nice variety of activities run by the staff each day. Aqua yoga is worth a try for the giggles. We were all inclusive and were impressed with the drinks selection throughout the day. Breakfast was excellent and runs for about 3-4 hours so suits everybody. We weren’t that impressed with the “snacks” in the pool bar. There were a couple of cake things, hamburgers or hotdogs and sandwiches. They didn’t taste great and the “hot” snacks were often cold. Buffet lunch offered loads of options. Evening meal was good, lots of choice, typical all inclusive food. Would definitely recommend the Olivina restaurant as it is much nicer than the one on the other side. Very relaxed atmosphere and really friendly staff. About a 30 min walk into Costa Teguise and the main beach there is worth a trip. All in we were really happy with our stay and would recommend to others. Really close to the airport. If you get a late flight in it is worth noting they don’t offer any food for an evening meal, so make sure you pack snacks or eat on the plane.

My wife booked our one night stay as a gift. When she booked she chose the Royal level all inclusive and added the early checkin option. Check in went very smoothly apart from the chap on the Royal check in area who didn't really seem to know what he was doing capped off by him giving me a paper discount card for Fund Grube and telling me i needed to put it in the slot inside the room to allow the lights and everything to work. I even questioned this a couple of times but he insisted that's what it was for. Funnily enough it didn't so went back down stairs again he then handed me the plastic card but still insisted the cardboard one should have worked. Taking the mickey out of paying customers is not good business perhaps it was a little game he liked to play with other staff 🤷‍♂️. Our room was 1616 on the sixth floor supposedly a sea view 🤔 I'd say partial as you had to be stood up and to the left of the balcony otherwise you just looked at other rooms. The room itself was lovely big spacious well appointed. We decided to go down to the Royal Level only pool and bar area only to find all sun loungers were either taken or had towels. Clipped on a couple even had just one flip flop on each lounger. We spoke to staff as clearly guests are just reserving lounger early morning then disappearing off. The staff were totally disinterested. We ended up spending most of the day sat on two plastic chairs not quite the Royal experience my wife had paid for. The pool bar was great staff friendly and snacks and drinks all day were really good. The evening meal was very average can't really say much more on that . We went back to our room around 11pm and then spent the next two hours listening to the noise coming up from the foyer bar area as it's just a massive void right up and beyond the doors to the rooms on the Royal level . You could even hear the pool balls being smashed around the table and the loud drunks shouting at 1am. This certainly was no Royal experience for the price we paid . Would we stay again NO
