산 마리노(Hotel San Marino)

Several of the other reviews seemed unnecessarily harsh. For the location, which is an expensive area, this is a fine hotel for the price. It was very clean, the owners and workers were nice and friendly, and the food at the restaurant was good. They cooked for us one night even though we were the only ones there. The balcony views of the lake and mountains were amazing. But the road noise is for real, especially during rush hour, but calms down a lot past 7pm. Maybe bring some ear plugs if you are concerned, but it is worth the sacrifice for the view!

Courtesy need to be improved. Breakfast wasn’t very good. As per my reservation I was expected to have room with balcony, instead there was just a window. Outside there is noisy traffic.

I was afraid to touch things because it looked like it hadn't been cleaned or wiped in years. The floor mat had stains on it. The sheets did smell washed and looked clean Hair dryer didn't work. Shower had was wonky - calcified head so the water sprayed in directions it wasn't meant to & the water pressure was low because the head was probably worn out. Not a great location. Even for the view. Lake view is literally everywhere in como stay somewhere else for yes same price that's cleaner and skip on the lake view

Too noisy. Close to the road with a lot of traffic day and night.

Amazing family run business, couldn't have asked for more! Beautiful accommodation, the bedroom had spectacular views over the lake! lovely restaurant serving the best Italian cuisine, wonderful hosts and such great value! We will be back!

A mediocre old hotel on the side of a busy road. The room was clean; the mattress and pillows on bed were extremely hard (for me); the wardrobe very high, with 5 coat hangers and only one shelf. Electrical sockets are very old. The bathroom was clean, but hairdryer was broken. Overall look is dingy with a smell of damp in the corridors. The owners were not particularly friendly, but not unfriendly either. First sentence spoken on our arrival was a demand for payment. Breakfast was typical Italian, which I expected and was fine. Dinner in the restaurant was disappointing. Plastic menus showing revised prices (old price scored out and new inked in) and some menus still had the old prices – very confusing. No food served after 21.00. Waitress (Valentina) very pleasant and friendly. Cost of drinks at the “bar” dependent on who was serving. Smoking allowed in Restaurant. The pool area needs to be tidied in the evenings and the garden could do with some attention too. Unreliable Wi-Fi in rooms. Ein mittelmäßiges altes Hotel an einer stark befahrenen Straße. Das Zimmer war sauber; die Matratze und die Kissen auf dem Bett waren extrem hart (für mich); der Kleiderschrank sehr hoch, mit 5 Kleiderbügeln und nur einem einlegeboden. Steckdosen sind sehr alt. Das Badezimmer war sauber, aber der Föhn war kaputt. Das Gesamtbild ist schmuddelig mit einem feuchten Geruch in den Korridoren. Die Besitzer waren nicht besonders freundlich, aber auch nicht unfreundlich. Der erste Satz, der bei unserer Ankunft gesprochen wurde, war eine Zahlungsaufforderung. Das Frühstück war typisch italienisch, was ich erwartet hatte und war in Ordnung. Das Abendessen im Restaurant war enttäuschend. Plastikmenüs mit revidierten Preisen (alter Preis durchgestrichen und neu eingefärbt) und einige Speisekarten hatten noch die alten Preise – sehr verwirrend. Nach 21.00 Uhr wird kein Essen serviert. Kellnerin (Valentina) sehr angenehm und freundlich. Kosten für Getränke an der "Bar" abhängig davon, wer bedient hat. Im Restaurant wird geraucht. Der Poolbereich muss abends aufgeräumt werden und der Garten könnte auch etwas Aufmerksamkeit vertragen. Unzuverlässiges WLAN in den Zimmern.

Really lovely stay, would recommend to everyone amazing pool, amazing view, great restaurant, has parking, room was recently refurbed with a new bathroom. Would stay again!

The place had a very beautiful view with the lake. The patio of the restaurant was very nice nice. The room and the bed was better than I expected. They had a parking. The breakfast was not very impressive.
