아레날 실로팔로(Arenal Xilopalo)

Such a lovely place to stay, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Short walk into town and close to all the amenities. The best thing about staying here is the amazing wildlife! In the morning they put out fruit for the birds by the restaurant, it's so worth spending some time sitting there and watching all the incredible birds that come to visit. Make sure you do the sloth tour with Armando! So reasonably priced, and he is so knowledgeable about all of the species you can find. We saw 9-10 sloths, snakes, iguanas and birds; later on he took us on a short night walk in the garden to find the tree frogs. Absolute expert and takes incredible photos through the scope, make sure you don't miss it!

Lovely breakfast and from your breakfast table you have a good view of the Vulcano and there are some feeding platforms offering excellent bird viewing opportunities.The new pool is very beautiful and surrounded by natural water visited by iguanas, green basilisks and tiny red frogs.

The hotel was exceptional due to the open air breakfast location and being able to watch birds while eating breakfast. The staff at reception and the restaurant were amazing. They helped with arranging an excursion for ziplining that was discounted. The rooms are a good size and beds are comfortable. Not much water pressure but it worked. Would have liked another hand towel or a washcloth. Coffeemaker, ground coffee, and refrigerator in the room was a plus. The cold pool was beautiful although a slight too cold for me to swim in.

I loved this place, it had a nice little pool, clean rooms , and I loved breakfast with the birds, also so many places too sit around at night. Armondo works there and took us on a sloth tour. He’s great! It’s very close to the town you don’t need a car to go.

Room was large and comfortable. Food was excellent, bird watching was very interesting. Other services including a cold pool and a pool table were available but we haven't used it. A nice place to stay. Tours at reasonable prices are also available.

This hotel is clean, great food and friendly staff. The breakfast was the best part of the stay! The staff feeds birds while you eat! Breakfast is only $7usd for fresh fruit, fruit juice and any kind of eggs or pancakes. Rooms are dated but very clean and the view of the volcano is breathtaking! We will come back here.

Good service, friendly staff, good area, a bit noisy from the other rooms and the front office, a litte ugly smell in the room and the water pressure at the shower is a shame

Basic but very clean rooms, friendly staff that is very helpful in organising trips. Breakfast was delicious, too, and they feed birds next to the terrace so we just loved to watch them while we had breakfast. It’s located almost in the center of La Fortuna so all the shops, bars and reasonable are easy to reach. Had a wonderful time at this hotel!

Lovely place to stay within short walking distance of the main square with all its bars and restaurants. Breakfast is delicious and great value at $6. Highlight for me is all the birds you can see that come to visit while you are eating. I even saw 3 Toucans! Their friend Armando will take you on a mini 20 minute night walk in the garden looking for wildlife. We saw bats and frogs. If you’re looking for good value and comfort look no further.
