Hôtel Fleur des Alpes

Unpretentious, focused on great dining experience with wonderful host with a sense of humor and confidence in his restaurant and hotel. We could only schedule one night, but made the most of it with dinner for five (mom/dad/son/grandsons). We were given several options directly from the host who guided us through entrees, mains and desserts. House wine was good. As is often the case, the choices were challenging since they all sounded great and every selection was superb; the five of us couldn’t keep our forks off each other’s plates! Strongly recommend the farcis (stuffed onion, tomato, zucchini, aubergine, and red pepper). Veal tonnato, another fabulous entrée. Tomato/buffalo mozzarella was the ultimate culinary delight—you have not had tomatoes until you have tasted these—really! View of the gorge & mountains was very pleasant too. If this were in our back yard we would find this as our home…

We stayed here for 2 nights in late-May and can say for certain it is the type of place we look for when we travel, especially when our primary plan is to hike. It is a small, well managed, clean property that is family owned and operated, which in this case translated into friendly and great service. Our room had everything we needed, was clean and a nice view of the mountains, with the sound of the river outside our window at night. We enjoyed happy hour on the front patio after hiking each day but what really made Hôtel Fleur des Alpes special, in addition to the great staff, was the restaurant. We had dinner here both nights and the food was excellent. It seems clear they try to use local products whenever possible. We also enjoyed breakfast each day, which is included in the rate. Again, we love finding well run properties that focus on their guests and provide great value – we hope to return to this property again someday as it exceeded our expectations in every way.

Dopo la prima iniziale mia titubanza nell’aver visto la stanza prenotata (bagno piccolissimo ricavato nella stanza) il tutto è stato compensato dalla cortesia, gentilezza e capacità di gestione del proprietario Robby. Persona squisita insieme alla moglie, il figlio e tutto il personale. Cucina del ristorante veramente fantastica. Ci siamo trovati benissimo e ci ritorneremo! Fabio e Stefania
