We stayed at the 1914 Bjertorp Castle for Valentine’s Day. The staff were friendly and professional. The surroundings and environment are picturesque,and the interior is very attractive. There are large ,cosy areas where you can sit and relax. We opted for the eight-course tasting menu with pairing wines. The beautifully presented food had scrumptious flavours. Room 316 We were greeted with champagne and fresh fruit upon arrival. However, it had black scuff marks from suitcases hitting the inside of the door in the past, large cracks on the television wall, and the ceiling above the bed was showing small holes that were left unfilled after the old smoke alarm had been removed. These issues need immediate attention. Since we stayed on February 14, I hope the room has been decorated.

I highly recommend a stay in this wonderful place and wish I come back here again. We felt welcomed, cared about, rested and fascinated to read the history about it. Great feeling thanks to design, setting, service, great food, quality in all in the room - bedding, textile, bathroom, all is made in the name to give you the best stay possible. I said to.my teen son - would love your wedding here one day ! ❤️

This was no doubt once a great country house and perhaps even a great hotel, but it now has the flavour of a two- or three-star parador run on a shoestring: faded cloth 'flowers' on the restaurant tables; a stuffed bear at the entrance hall (which may have once held welcoming notices for arriving guests but no more); no porters; a bell to ring for staff at the largely unmanned bar and reception desk, etc. Service was hit and miss, but its saving grace was excellent food, obviously cooked with care. The hotel sits alongside a fine golf course, which would be a definite plus for players.

Amazing property, Great fine dining with excellent wine selections. Amazing golfing walking distance from the castle. Very attentive staff. Highly recommended.

Our knowledge of Bjertorp Castle is over 20 years old. Now we hadn't been there for 10 years, and it was time for a return visit. The wonderful alley is the same, thank God! Magical feeling driving up to the castle. All the motorhomes in the parking lot were something new, perhaps taking a bit of the exclusiveness away from the entrance area. The bear in the hallway welcomed us as last time, very nice. The service at check-in, on the other hand, was less pleasant, not welcoming, no smile, this was not like "the old days".... The room was on the 3rd floor with a view to the park. Due to insects called Trips we were not allowed to open the windows, this made the room very hot, despite two fans running all the time. Could AC be an idea? But then it was time for dinner, and it was very good. Our waiter also contributed to the evening being a very pleasant experience. The atmosphere in the restaurant was as nice as we remembered it. Breakfast the next day was good and we could enjoy it outside (along with the Thrips insects). Pleasant breakfast hostess. But the same unpleasant lady at check-out... You should do something about this, Bjertorp. A wonderful place that you are lucky enough to invite us guests to shouldn't be scratched by rude staff. Otherwise: Rating 8 out of 10!

We did not feel very welcome by the check-in staff. We had room on the top floor and it was not very easy to find the room since the building has lots of stairs etc. The room was big, clean and the bed was very good. We had a nice dinner in the evening, but the service was very slow. I really enjoyed the great surroundings, and we loved all the information we could read on the walls in the corridors which told the story of Bjertorp Slott. I did not see very many smiles or experienced too much friendliness of the staff.
