Tommy's Place @ TIP of Borneo

The bathroom wasn’t that clean, there were molds and stains everywhere.

I booked 4 nights at Tommy’s Place, but unfortunately due to Storm Wutip hitting land, I left after one night given that the surfing and scuba diving I had come for wouldn’t be able to happen. The staff were so helpful during my (rather short) stay, and I definitely don’t have a bad word to say about them! They even took me back to Kudat when I decided to leave (for a small fee). The room was suitable for my needs, the Restaurant was great, and the place was basically on the beautiful Kalimantan beach.

We have been here twice now, big portions, fav is the salty fish rice, cabbage was amazing too, tried the keropok lekor… interesting not unpleasant, hard to describe the taste, and chicken satay kebabs were really nice too! Cooling breeze, lovely staff, great people watching spot (esp crazy-good kite surfers - wow!!), fantastic view of ocean and a great spot for the sunset - do it!!♥️

There were notany rooms in the chalet, our room had a queen n single bed. The place is comfort enought, has a electric kettle, 3 bottles mineral water but no cups or coffee packs. The beddings are very comfort too n you had a nice view as u sit at the balcony. This stay does not include bf. We order fish for dinner at cafeteria n the fish is very fresh but the cheese burger I order I wont say is good.the place is pack during weekends n holidays now that Covid is over, we came on a Monday and is quite empty

With high anticipation of beautiful beach and fun-filled activities, my days there with family spoilt by the following; 1. Strong smoke smell from the room, which is supposed to be non-smoking room. 2. Strong urine smell in the bathroom, need to clean myself to get rid of the smell. 3. Stray hungry dogs! around 10 of them following the food, during family BBQ and following me (not only me, other guests too) around the beach, night and day. The dogs guarantee will topple the trash bin at night, and you would find your last night binned food scattered by the dogs. This is not first time I am here. I guess due to less competition, owner could care less to upgrade their hospitality service and care less about the stray dogs calling their "resort" home. If not for the wifi availability, I would give poor rating. Beach is still pristine, no visible trash still. But one kid found sharp broken bottle at the beach. Beware!

alvin is a very good diving instructor, i do recommend him for diving such a nice place also for kitesurfing ask for abidin also a good instructor il faut absolument venir ici c est le paradis la fin de borneo, la ou magellan c est pose pour son tour du monde…
