The Restaurant @Amanzoe J’ai mis du temps à me décider à écrire cet avis car je voulais qu’il soit bien construit … Au final le constat qui me vient est le suivant : tout dans le décor rien dans l’assiette… Je suis très rarement vindicatif quand un restaurant n’a pas été à la hauteur. Mais là je suis obligé ! On parle du groupe Aman quand même ! On sait que c’est ultra cher et on veut l’expérience promise ! Quand on arrive sur place on sent l’opulence des lieux bien que le groupe Aman est censé représenter le luxe discret… Le droit est beau. Très beau. Perché en haut de la colline avec des vues à couper le souffle, le thème Grèce antique « moderne » est soigné. Mais c’est tout. Le reste est décevant. Le service est sympa mais pas à la hauteur des lieux et surtout pas du prix qu’on paye Nous avons commandé 2 cocktails qui ont mis près de 25 min à arriver ! Un mexican mule avec un glaçon gigantesque que si vous l’enlevez il ne reste plus rien à boire, et le deuxième, une spicy margarita mais ils se sont trompés en la ramenant. C’était une margarita classique. Nous n’avons pas demandé à ce qu’elle soit faite à nouveau car nous avions déjà trop attendu. Les oshiboris ont été posés sur la table. Nous n’avons même pas eu le temps de nous en servir qu’ils étaient déjà enlevés de la table ! Nous suivons les conseils de la serveuse quant aux choix des plats Nous optons pour l’entrée au homard à 45€ (qui s’avère être un minuscule morceau de homard qui ne mérite pas son prix même s’il était correct en goût mais rien de fou…) En plat je goûte l’aubergine « imam » qui était fade et très salée La moussaka ! Parlons de la moussaka ! Je doute qu’elle ait été cuisiné par une personne grecque … c’est un de mes plats préférés j’en ai mangé des centaines dans ma vie… tout d’abord elle était quasiment froide… je pense que c’était la moussaka la plus sèche et fade que j’aie jamais goûtée ! (Quelques jours plus tard je découvrais la meilleure moussaka du monde dans un petit restaurant d’Athenes sans prétention) C’est à ce moment là que j’ai demandé du pain… une première fois… 10 minutes plus tard toujours pas de pain… nous redemandons du pain… toujours rien… il aura fallu une troisième demande pour enfin avoir du pain ! Les gambas (jumbo prawns) étaient correctes mais sans être non plus quelque chose de fou… vous trouvez pareil, voire meilleur sur le port de Porto Chéli pour bien moins cher ! Les accompagnements étaient bons (purée de pomme de terre, haricots verts et potatoes) Nous avons opté en dessert pour les profiteroles à la pistache qui étaient bonnes… Voulant faire en sorte que le restaurant soit haut de gamme, ils ne posent pas les bouteilles d’eau sur la table mais dans une vasque commune ! Drôle façon de faire pour facturer les bouteilles d’eau aux clients… Pour résumer : n’y allez pas ! Vous allez perdre votre argent Le service n’est pas au point, la cuisine ne vaut absolument pas que vous dépensiez autant d’argent pour des pla

I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay at Amanzoe. Despite the high price, the service and overall experience were far below expectations. First and foremost, we were not allowed to choose a different room, even though we requested it. Additionally, our request for a late check-out was denied without any reasonable explanation. The dining experience was equally disappointing. The quality of the food was very poor, definitely not what one would expect from such an expensive establishment. The location was also inconvenient. The journey from the airport to the hotel was excessively long, adding unnecessary stress to our trip. Besides the cost was not even included. Moreover, throughout our stay, we constantly felt like we were being sold something. It was as if the staff's primary focus was to push additional products and services rather than ensure our comfort. I wrote to the hotel to address these issues, but have not yet received an response. Overall, this experience was not worth the money spent, and I would not recommend this hotel to others.

We stayed at Amanzoe in April 2022 as a Family of 4...twice! I am not sure where to begin, it might be best to ask my children who were 4 and 6 at the time, who to this day still fondly talk of their time at 'Zoe' as they affectionately have named it. Located around 2.5hours drive from Athens, the drive down and onto the property is an experience in and of itself, surrounded by lush green trees, vineyards and olive groves. We were greeted by the team including the GM Ernst, who addressed the children and the adults; these actions gave you an idea of how special this trip was going to be from the moment we arrived. As we walked further in, after refreshments, you were met with an 'Acropolis like' design. Stunning. The most beautiful architecture, marble, white stone lapped by the bluest of pools. As we were shown around, we became even more enamoured. Whilst the size of Amanzoe is vast, the number of rooms/pavillions are few, which again speaks to privacy and luxury. Our pavillion, which when we came back the second time, we returned to, was beautifully designed and appointed again in the 'Acropolis like' style with a garden, terrace and private pool which we thoroughly enjoyed as a family. Incredibly clean and minimalist. The level of personalisation and luxury is second to none, from the complimentary minibar, to the complimentary movies, footwear, sunhats, beach bags, to each evening being met with turndown gifts for the family...one is utterly spoiled. Aside from the obviously beautiful property, I believe what made us return back to Amanzoe in such a short period of time, was that the service was and is incomparable. We didn't need to ask or say a thing, it seemed that everything was remembered, and the stay was personalised to us; from my husband's coffee, to the favourite drinks within the minibar, to the desserts at dinner for the children, the eggs at breakfast, to the bottled water down at the beach club. Service was second to none. Whilst it would be easy to never leave, there is plenty to do close by, and we enjoyed getting to know Martina and Manous, who own the farm we visited during the stay; visited Spetses, a beautiful Island a boat ride away from 'Zoe' and plenty more sights. We want to thank Ernst, Jordan and the team for the most wonderful stay, and returned stay, and we look forward to seeing you all again soon - not least because our departure bracelet gifts are a constant reminder that we must return. We would rate Amanzoe a 10/10.

We were inviting friends for dinner to the Greek restaurant of the hotel and the food was very poor also service very slow This hotel is hollow with no ambiance and 5km away from the beach One must be out of their mind to stay there You are in Greece at a luxury hotel with Zero ambiance and with luxury rooms with swimming pools for the fools

Before I begin, we discussed our disappointments with the manager, and our experience was corrected to the best of his and his teams ability. However, I'm sharing it here as constructive reviews are not only a great help for interested visitors (we would've appreciated knowing the shortcomings and would've thought twice about booking), but it helps manage expectations, for Amanzoe's good. We admittedly had high expectations. There was a lot wrong but most importantly for us was the food - it was absolutely horrendous. Of all things, a Greek salad (in Greece) should be done right, but it was a bowl of mush with too many overchopped, watery and tasteless tomatoes. This happened not once, but twice. Since our visit, we're put off seabass carpaccio. It was inedible. It was so grossly salty it took our breath away (the salt is to mask the age), and it was so tough we couldn't slice through it. The seafood, veg and fruit are not fresh. And if you're interested in indulging in the Greek favourites you'll be highly disappointed to find menus that are more international, and the few Greek options that are available are terribly executed. When it comes to staff, they are very very poorly trained. To the point that it was frustrating. I felt for them, because they seemed clueless in the simplest of situations. Although most were sweet natured, everyone seemed like an intern. Our takeaway was that Amanzoe prioritises aesthetic appeal over areas of great importance. We've learnt not to be fooled by beautiful grounds and a big room. No one cares for a reflective pool and pretty flowers, if their shower doesn't work properly and the food is inedible.
