Corallium Hotel & Villas Bonaire Very disappointed. What an overpriced poorly maintained property. Avoid this place. Bonaire is a small friendly island where visitors are welcomed. This place is not friendly and, in my opinion, they are looking to take every dollar from you that they can. They offer a best price guarantee and if you book directly with them and then find a lower price they promise to match the lower price. They do NOT do this. On site, they claim that that offer only applies to properties in the United States but their web site has no such disclaimer that I could find. Blatant FALSE ADVERTISING in my opinion! First, I booked my room and was quoted a nightly rate for the 6 nights. The rate included all taxes and fees. No extra charges! The online web site had a section called the “Fine Print” and per the Fine Print I would owe nothing else. When I arrived at his hotel, they wanted to add fees to my rate and call them taxes. Then a day later, they wanted to call them service charges. And eventually became resort fees. The additional fees amounted to a 27% increase in the price that I was being asked to pay. Not happy. For a 6 day stay the additional fees added $264 to the bill. Then I got to my room in a facility that thinks of themselves as an upscale facility. A high-end resort. NOT! My room which holds up to four people had only one wash cloth, one hand towel, no bath towels, 2 sheets of Kleenex and a ¼ roll of toilet paper. No spare TP. Then I noticed that there were no coffee cups, creamer or coffee. The place had advertised a BBQ, and I asked where it was because I was interested in using it. The desk clerk offered to deliver it to my room and agreed to call me to let me know if and when the BBQ would be at my room. Well, I never got the BBQ or the promised call day. They claim that there is coffee in the lobby 24-7. And yes there is but when I went to get some early Monday morning there were no cups available. No cups – No coffee. Such a fancy place. Tuesday morning at least 8 people brought their own cups to the lobby for coffee. Really? Lots of comments about why everyone brought their own cups and that the place is “no longer a Marriott” property. They have a little store on site. Water drinks, mac & cheese etc. But no spoons forks or silverware to use while you eat what you purchased. They have been out of utensils for many weeks per the desk clerk. No napkins but they have food. To my disappointment, I went to the pool on Sunday to relax and get a little sunshine but what I found was not relaxing. There were about 15-20 young children in the pool. I estimate their ages to be 1-9. The 1-year-olds are not potty trained. The others are screaming, yelling and throwing balls. But they do not look like guests of the hotel. None of them are using the green hotel pool towels. These visitors all have different towels and none of the towels are hotel towels. This looks like the families of the employees are using the pool area an
