Our 7th time to the Maldives, 1st to Komandoo we loved this island the best by far! We were met by our island host Maryana who showed us around the island & to our jacuzzi beach villa, she was vey helpful. Love that it’s a barefoot island with lots of vegetation & wildlife. The beaches & lagoon are amazing with fabulous snorkeling, sharks, turtles, rays & beautiful colorful fish! A must to watch are the nurse sharks at the end of the jetty after dark. The food is excellent in the Falhu resturant & Aqua as are the drinks/cocktails in the Kandu & sun set bar. We went on the Manta excursion & were so lucky to swim with 8 mantas! The dive center crew were amazing & very knowledgeable. The Champions are the best! They can’t do enough for you, nothing is to much trouble from the restaurants to the bars to reception they are all amazing! Our room was cleaned to a high standard by Ibrahim, he left us some amazing towel art most days. The rooms are lovely although they could be better with a little bit of an upgrade. Beyya the general manager is very attentive, always being seen around the island to make sure everyone is happy. We will definately be back….can’t wait!

My husband & I have recently returned from two weeks on this beautiful island. If you want to relax & recharge your batteries this is the place to visit. Everything you need is catered for whether at the bars or in the restaurants. The Champions are friendly & welcoming & we were lucky enough to have Waheed in Falhu Restaurant as our waiter, (he was getting our drinks ready before we sat down!) Also our room attendant Azmeel & his amazing towel art is a wonder & entertaining. Shout outs to Biji (you make great cocktails) Dicksharna (Falhu), Munish, Maryana (nothing is too much trouble for these champions at Reception) & Budi the chef who encourages you to try everything. Please note there is a dress code for men in the restaurant so covering your shoulders is expected. Remember to bring snorkels as the marine life is truly breathtaking & you don't want to miss seeing the turtles having breakfast. Also you really don't need shoes, perhaps one pair of flip flops. This place is a must.

Komandoo resort was an absolute paradise, not spoiled by rude Russians or rich Asians who treat staff like 2nd hand citizens! The high majority of guests ware Europeans Very quiet, exceptional service and variety of food was amazing. ( if you look for a more active/party place, this is not the case here ) All inclusive package makes sense as all extras are quite expensive like every ware in Maldives, for 6.5k€/2 persons including flights, all inclusive package, transfers, was quite a good deal. Download the resort app, there you will find all packages explained , prices, activities , etc, so you can choose the right thing for you Premium bungalows are exactly the same as the rest, the only BIG difference is the location on the island, right at sunrise, the lagoon is quite big with perfect water, the rest are on the opposite side at sunset where the lagoon is very small and you look at a locals island near by, not the prettiest of sights. You will find out very fast, lots of the guests are returning customers, for such a small island this says a lot. Age average I will say is 50+ years old, this might not be ideal for all 2 dives pack is around 250$ , 15l tanks or Nitrox is extra cost like it is the cases with everything extra you might ask BUT, it is fantastic and the instructors, Kevin and Adi are absolutely fantastic ( I only dived with the 2 of them ) You can take kayaks ( included in AI packs ) but are allowed only in the lagoon, after 10 mine, it’s already getting boring Spa and massages are very expensive, prices can be found in the app, almost nobody uses them, I do not get the point of they’re strategy, preferring to keep the spa empty vs customers satisfaction Bars and in room ones are very well organized and stocked.

My wife and I just returned from our third visit to beautiful Komandoo. The island, which is child free has a lovely warm, friendly and relaxed ambience. As a fabulous treat we had a gorgeous spacious water villa. Our short walk to the restaurant was along sandy paths through lovely greenery. We snorkelled everyday seeing a turtle, sharks, sting ray and many pretty fish of various size and colours. The food buffet was excellent with so much choice and lovely to also to have a couple of nights at the separate restaurant being served. Alfresco dining in the evening particularly lovely. The warmth and service from all the team was faultless. Additionally the wash rooms were always spotless. Our assigned waiter Jumaan was excellent, quickly getting to know our preferences. We could mention so many but a special shout out for Akinkumar who was the chef when we were at the separate restaurant and the naans he cooked at the livecooking station were second to none. Finally big thank you to Ibrahim our great room boy whose bed decorations were amazing. Now saving for next time.

Komandoo is an adults only resort and is absolutely stunning. We stayed in one of the jacuzzi beach villas, which had a good sized room and shower room. The main room has a wardrobe, dressing table with mirror, chest of drawers, TV, mini fridge, wine cooler, hairdryer, safe and coffee machine. The outside shower room leads to the jacuzzi and day bed. All enclosed so privacy is assured. No need for plug converters as the sockets are compatible with UK plugs. Internet is patchy at best and there is no coverage in the restaurant. The 4 poster bed is very comfortable. The veranda has a table and chairs, and there are 2 sunbeds and parasol on the private beach. Plenty of clean towels provided for the beach and at the infinity pool. The main restaurant is lovely with indoor and outdoor seating. Buffet style dining with plenty of choice everyday. The same with the Kandu bar, which is located next to the pool. The staff are wonderful and provide outstanding service. The island is kept very clean and there's no need for footwear (only by the pool as the decking gets hot during the day). Entertainment is provided at the Kandu bar in the form of a movie night (headphones provided) or a musician. A sunset cruise is included in the stay and is well worth doing. I would NOT recommend the excursion to the turtle sanctuary at Naifaru ($90 each person). The island itself is run down and the first thing you see is piles of rubbish that's used as a makeshift sea defence, and obviously smells awful. The turtle sanctuary is not what you'd expect. The injured turtles are kept in very small tanks. 3 of the 6 turtles we saw had no reasonable chance of rehabilitation and being released back to the sea and have no quality of life. It would appear that the turtles are being exploited for the entertainment of tourists, with their welfare being of low priority. I found it distressing to see the turtles in such a poor environment and left there feeling angry that this is being allowed to happen. It is not a pleasant trip and I would never visit again. I would 100% recommend Komandoo if you're looking for a totally relaxing holiday on a paradise island. Humidity is very high, so if you're precious about your hair and makeup looking perfect, you'll be fighting a losing battle! *** You will need to complete an online immigration form (imuga) no more than 96 hours before arrival and departure. It was my second time in Komandoo and I will definitely come back! Perfect destination to slow down, relax and find peace. Second home in heart!
