What I Loved: The first thing you notice is the calm and beautiful ambiance. It’s incredibly peaceful, surrounded by nature, and feels like a true escape. If you’re someone who values privacy, this place delivers. You won’t feel crowded or disturbed, even during peak season. The staff were warm, welcoming, and super helpful throughout the stay. Whether it was the front desk or the restaurant team, they all carried a professional yet friendly attitude. The rooms were spotless and well-kept, with everything you’d expect in terms of cleanliness and comfort. And yes—the breakfast menu was quite good! A nice spread with enough variety to start your day right But Here’s the Catch: While everything was pleasant, I couldn’t help but feel that the price tag was way too high for what was on offer. It’s branded as a 5-star luxury resort, but there wasn’t anything particularly special or unique that made it stand out. Also, the location is a bit of a downside—it’s quite far from the lake and the main town area. So, if you’re planning to explore Kodaikanal a lot, be prepared for longer drives. Final Thoughts: The Tamara Kodaikanal is great if you’re looking to unwind in a secluded, quiet place with good service and comfort. But if you’re expecting a luxurious, one-of-a-kind experience for the premium price, you might come away a little underwhelmed.
